Basketball Play - Flood C vs Match-up Zone

Flood C vs Match-up Zone

Rory Hamilton 03/26/2018

"Flood C" is a set to run vs a Match-up Zone Defense. It is the counter to "Flood" and is run to get a 3pt shot from the corner. The play begins the same way as flood and the action stays the same. Where this play differs from Flood is that instead of throwing back to the 1 after the drag dribble, 2 throws it right back to the 4. 5 sets a screen on the bottom of the zone and 3 comes back ball side looking to catch and shoot behind 5's screen. This play was #7 on the most downloaded plays of 2018! Check out the full list and download the playbook: The Top 25 Plays of 2018 The Kansas Jayhawks used this after timeout play during their Elite Eight game to get 5 a wide open basket at the rim. 1 passes to 2 causing x5 to shift with the ball. 5 sets the ball screen for 2. As 2 passes the ball to 1, 4 screens x5 in the middle of the zone. Kansas put a good shooter in the corner (3), making x4 stay with him. This opens up 5 for the layup off the pass from 1. Basketball Play - UCLA Bruins - Baseline Runner (Zone)

UCLA Bruins - Baseline Runner (Zone)

Matt Wheeler 03/14/2018

UCLA ran this concept-based zone offense in their First Four matchup against St. Bonaventure, putting their best player (1) on the baseline and giving him different options to cut behind the zone. When the ball gets to a side one of the post players cuts to the high post and the other one stays low. This overloads the offense, putting 4 offensive players against 3 defensive players in the zone. When the ball is reversed up top, 1 has options to run the baseline or flash to the high post. If 1 receives the ball in the high post, 4 and 5 seal their defenders looking for a pass to the rim. 2 and 3 flatten out to the wings to create a better passing angle for a kickout three point shot. Basketball Play - Xavier Musketeers - 24 Seal vs 2-3 Zone

Xavier Musketeers - 24 Seal vs 2-3 Zone

Richard Schiell 01/10/2018

This play was #23 on the most downloaded plays of 2018! Check out the full list and download the playbook: The Top 25 Plays of 2018 Zone Quick Hitter Set from Coach Chris Mack and the Xavier Men's Basketball team. Play initiates with the 3 screening the top guard of the 2-3 zone defending the 1. This draws the outside low defender of the 2-3 zone to stop the ball. The 2 and 4 then move to seal the middle and weakside of the 2-3 zone as the 5 cuts strong side to the basket. This provides a easy entry from 1 to a open 5 for the layup. See More
