Favorite Send to FastDrawThe University of Virginia ran this 1-4 BLOB action against VCU. With the flex screen, the play has a quick hitting action to it off the inbounds pass and the pin down screen-the-screener action gives the shooter a chance to get off an open shot if the defense miscommunicates on the flex cut Here, the PG does a good job reading the defender and gets into the lane off the dribble. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Denver Nuggets run this misdirection Hammer set to free up a shooter in the corner. The use a flare screen at the top to occupy the help defense, forcing a weak side defender to rotate towards the ball. That rotation sets up an opening in the corner for a shooter to make a cut to. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe variety of sets VCU runs in a single game gives their offense a chance to score on every possession. What makes the VCU Rams such a tough team is their execution in the half court and the ability for their guards to handle the ball. In this set, you have the Over / Under cut whch can be used to set-up your shooter or get post entry off the diagonal backscreen for the 4 man. VCU also does a good job reading the defense with quick ball reversal, they are able to finish the set with a middle ball screen setting up penetration in the lane causing the defense to rotate. Shaka Smart is an innovative Coach who puts his players in the best positions to score in their half court offense. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawVCU Head Coach Shaka Smart was one of the hottest coaching names in the off-season, but showed his true loyalty to the program that he has built into a yearly power. This year Smart returns a line-up with experience and their offense is enjoyable and entertaining to watch. This Weave action really does a good job using the flare screen, good cutting actions, and a ball screen at the end to set-up a wide open 3 pt shot in the corner. VCU's quickness at the guard positions gives defenses nightmares with their ability to breakdown 1 v 1 off the dribble. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMarquette Head Coach Buzz Williams ran the 4 High Series and this is an easy to use set for all levels. There is a good over the top action to being freeing up the 2 man on the wing who can look to drive if the defense gets hung up in the screen. Second, they run a good UCLA action for the PG who cuts to the basket looking for a possible pass. You get a ball reversal and baseline screen for 1 who comes out looking for his shot or post entry to 5 sealing in. There is a Zipper action for the 3 man who cuts off 5 to the basket looking for a quick hit lob pass or direct lay-up. The play ends with a SPNR between 5 & 1 and the spacing is excellent coming off the screen as the shooters spot up on the wing and corner, 4 dives to the weak side block. A great all around set with multiple options! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great set to run out of the read and react set. The object is to get your players cutting into the gaps of the zone before popping/moving to their spots around the perimeter. Make sure you teach your players to pass fake to cutters to shift the defense and help open up the gaps. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a set which was used by the Duke Blue Devils in order to get the ball inside to their 5 man Duke really does a good job emphasizing spacing by using the 3 pt line and their shooters are in a perfect position for a kick-out pass to the weak side The diagonal back screen sets up a quick hit for 4 in the post and the action continues with 5 screening on the wing lifting 4 off the block to the wing for a possible inside pass to 5 on the throw back from 2 Coach K's sets really make the players "read" the game and take advantage of the what the defense gives them See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTbis is a set play run by the Pittsburg Panthers in their pre-season game against Slippery Rock. It is a low stack action utilizing the side PNR. What makes this play so effective is the slip action by the 4 man and the 5 coming right in behind setting a good ball screen. With 5 rolling to the basket, x4's defender is forced to help leaving 4 wide open in the corner for the throwback pass and subsequent open 3 pt shot. Jamie Dixon does a good job with his offensive sets and this play is an effective way to read the defense and take advantage of a help situation. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawWhen playing good defensive teams, it can require simultaneous actions to occupy the help and open up more scoring opportunities. The play below gives you several scoring plays to counter any defensive rotations. 1. Screening 4 into the pick & roll with 2 can cause X4 to be late and give 2 a mid-range jumper. 2. If X4 and X2 to caught guarding 2, 4 will be open on the pop/roll as the rest of the help defense is occupied in the weak side screening action. 3. If the defense falls sleep or focuses more on the side pick & roll 3 may be open for the lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this action versus the Pelicans Wednesday night to get Chris Anderson an easy dunk at the rim. As 1 was screening for 3, the defense became very oppupied with defending Wade (not seeing the ball). Furthermore, X2 and X5 did not communicate and both ended up on 2, leaving 5 wide open rolling to the rim with no helpside. See More
