Marquette Head Coach Buzz Williams ran the 4 High Series and this is an easy to use set for all levels. There is a good over the top action to being freeing up the 2 man on the wing who can look to drive if the defense gets hung up in the screen.
Second, they run a good UCLA action for the PG who cuts to the basket looking for a possible pass. You get a ball reversal and baseline screen for 1 who comes out looking for his shot or post entry to 5 sealing in.
There is a Zipper action for the 3 man who cuts off 5 to the basket looking for a quick hit lob pass or direct lay-up.
The play ends with a SPNR between 5 & 1 and the spacing is excellent coming off the screen as the shooters spot up on the wing and corner, 4 dives to the weak side block.
A great all around set with multiple options!
2 runs off the FT line elbow screen from 4
5 needs to read & react - if slip to the basket is available, 1 must be ready to make that pass
UCLA action with 1, 2, and 4
1 passes to 2 and makes his cut off 4 to the basket
5 moves down to the weak side low block
3 moves to fill the space vacated by 5
Ball reversal, to get their point guard the ball
5 screens in for 1 on 4's pass to 3
1 pops hard looking shot
3 must quickly look for 5 if the defense hedges to help
As 3 passes, he will get a back screen from 5
Now, he must read the defense - here he back cuts
Now, he is looking for the "lob"
If 3 isn't open, they will play a 2-man game SNR
1 has multiple options coming off the screen
4 MUST read his defender before slashing to the basket
