Favorite Send to FastDraw"1-up Pop" is a set that has been featured in our "Plays YOU Can Use" series for ball screen sets, and also for lob sets. It is a typical high ball screen, which features a STS back screen, to get a dunk, or a high low look. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the most brilliant after timeout plays Kerr has run in his time with the Warriors is this back screen set they run for Draymond Green. By using Curry as a screener twice, the Warriors are able to punish teams that pay too much attention to Steph and not enough to their other scorers. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw"Box Special" is a lob set, which we ran regularly at Mid Michigan Community College. If the lob is not available, the back screener out cuts. There is the potential for a shot, or a high/low pass. If X4 helps, then the point guard will be open on the baseline screen. The multiple options to this set made it a great set to run early in games. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics ran this ATO action against the Washington Wizards in Game 7 of the second round of the 2017 NBA playoffs. This is a wrinkle out of their "5" action: http://www.fastmodelsports.com/library/basketball/fastdraw/151007/play-Boston-Celtics--5 Instead of passing to Isaiah Thomas coming off of the flare screen for a shot, Isaiah cuts through to the opposite side to set a back screen with a down screen option. Favorite Send to FastDrawDefending the 1v0 "Wolf" - Chase the dribbler from behind Sprint back. "You are never too late on defense." Attempt to block the shot low with the near hand Rebound - do not go past the backboard! Catching the dribbler from behind to block or change a shot is momentum changing play! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe San Antonio Spurs used this SLOB play with only 4.5 seconds left on the shot clock to get an easy layup. The Spurs used a common play with the elevator screen as a decoy adding a back screen to it. Kawhi Leonard (4) did a good job of keeping x4 on his top side as he set the elevator screen with 5. This allowed 5 to set a quick back screen and get 4 a wide open layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs ran this ATO at the end of the first half, of a pivotal Game 5, in the 2017 NBA Playoffs. The play resulted in an easy layup for Kawhi Leonard. It was a great design by Popovich. The counter to their elevator set is colored by the BLUE lines. It was a back screen by the 5, which got Kawhi the easy two points. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls ran this pick and roll play to take advantage of the Boston Celtics strategy of switching guard to guard ball screens. When 3 sets the ball screen he makes sure to get underneath x1 and pin his defender opening himself up for the lob. 1 quickly passes to 5 to improve the passing angle and 5 makes the lob pass to 3. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe LA Clippers ran this lob play early in game 5 against the Utah Jazz. As 1 gets the dribble handoff from 5, 4 runs off of a double screen as a decoy clearing the defense to set up the lob. 2 sets a back screen for 5 putting the defense in a position where x2 has to help guard 5. 1 makes a lob pass to 5 at the rim. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavs ran this ATO to get a quick postup for LeBron James, taking advantage of Toronto's strategy of switching screens on Kyle Korver.. Once 3 (Korver) got a good screen from 5, he sprinted off the baseline screen from 4 (James). Once x4 switched onto 3, 4 ducked in to receive the pass from 1 in the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw"1-Up Pop" is a counter play, off of the basic "1-Up" action. The weak side is cleared out, and the point guard is reading a back screen. The hope is that the lob will be available. If not, the back screener will out cut, and could have a shot. If the defense switches, then there is a high/low look. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw"Iverson STS Flare" is one of my favorite ball screen sets, due to the multiple actions that occur around the ball screen. The Iverson Cut initiates the set, which is followed by a screen-the-ballscreener action. To really challenge the defense, there is a weak side flare screen, and a back screen for the ball screener. If read properly, this set is incredibly hard to defend. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA #FindUseCreate teaching drill for reading the closeout On the skip pass, the reciever reads ONE COUNT shot on the catch if there is space. If the closeout is long, read TWO COUNT drive. Favorite Send to FastDraw"Stack 25" is a set that you will likely see in the 2017 NBA Playoffs from the Houston Rockets. They will put James Harden in a high ball screen, with Eric Gordon or Lou Williams setting a back screen. The set is very difficult to guard, due to the spacing, and simplified reads for the point guard. See More
