Basketball Play - Golden State's 4 Cross Pin

Golden State's 4 Cross Pin

Mark Travis 03/16/2013

Despite their recent woes, the Golden State Warriors still rank as a top 10 offensive team in basketball, which is impressive given the amount of time they have spent without center Andrew Bogut this season. Bogut is a versatile offensive option that can score on the block and facilitate from the post or the elbow, which makes for some great offensive chemistry with David Lee, Golden State's other multi-skilled big man. The Warriors can also use Bogut as a way to create offense for their potent guards - Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Here is an example of the Warriors putting Bogut on the block and using weakside action, as well as Bogut's nifty passing touch, to get a good open look for Thompson at the free throw line. See More

Basketball Play - Low

Low

Luke Riegel 11/06/2012

A quick hitting 2-3 zone set that puts pressure on the bottom wing of the zone to make a decision on who to guard. Your point-guard needs to be able to make the right decision and find the open man; either 5 on the block or 3 in the corner. Most of the time, X4 will try to go out and guard 3 on wing, leaving 5 open on the block. See More

Basketball Play - Loop 2 Chase & Shooting Breakdown

Loop 2 Chase & Shooting Breakdown

Daniel Murphy 07/31/2013

Counter to Loop 2, sets up a middle ball screen. If 1 can't pass to 2 on the wing, 2 drifts to the corner and 5 ball screens 1. After 1 throws back to 5 on the pick and pop, 5 can shoot, dribble hand off with 2, pass to 2 and follow for the corner pick and roll, or drive at 2's defender to draw the help and kick out for an open 3. Coaches can pass to make this a 5-0 offensive drill in addition to a game spot shooting drill. See More

Triangle Cross

Randy Brown 04/02/2013

If getting the ball to your posts in the paint is part of your game plan, this play will help. It incorporates ball reversal, cutting and screening. This can be run to the left or right side of the floor, depending on which post, 4 or 5, you plan to get open to score. You can use your three man as the scorer also in a mis-match situation. 10-11 Houston Rockets - High Post Entry with Diagonal Screen and Flare Screen

Basketball HQ 03/22/2013

With this play make sure you have a 2 that can make a pass from the top of the key to the rim when 3 cuts off of the diagonal screen. In practice work with your 2's that will be cutting off of the flare screen in reading the defense. You should be able to get a wide open shot, or lay up if your 2 can read the defense properly. This play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. See More

Basketball Play - Jaguar

Jaguar

Adam Spinella 09/30/2013

Jaguar is a play coming out of a high post offense, where the ball looks to go inside for a backdoor initially. If that backdoor is taken away, the set quickly expands to get two three point shooters open looks, taking advantage of how tightly the defense constricted around the lane to take away the initial backdoor. Basketball Play - 2 Minute Continuous Lay-Ups

2 Minute Continuous Lay-Ups

FastModel Sports 03/02/2015

Start by splitting your team into two lines at half court, about 30-40 feet apart. Every player in one of the lines should have a ball. Players are going to be shooting lay-ups at both baskets continuously for 2 minutes. The drill begins at the same time on both baskets. Player 1 passes a cross to Player 7, who passes right back to Player 1 for a lay-up. The player shooing the lay-up is not allowed to dribble, so the pass must be in the correct spot to lead them into their shot. Simultaneously, Player 4 passes a cross to Player 10, who passes right back to Player 4 for a lay-up. Both passers (Players 7 and 10) rebound the lay-ups and dribble to the line on the opposite side of the court (the shooting line). Both lay-up shooters (Player 1 and Player 4) sprint to the line opposite them (the passing line). The drill continues with the next pair of players performing the same give and go motion (Player 2 with Player 8 and Player 5 with Player 11) for lay-up attempts. As the drill progresses, the lines disappear as everyone is forced to be moving to keep the drill alive. See More
