Basketball Play - UNC Dribble

UNC Dribble

Daniel Murphy 02/07/2014

An option out of the Carolina break. If the ball can't be reversed to the trailer the pg can use the trailer as a screener and set up a 2 man game on one side of the floor with a stagger on the weak side of the floor. When running secondary breaks it helps to be able to run offense from both sides of the floor. See More

Basketball Play - Dribble Slice

Dribble Slice

Randy Brown 01/25/2014

Ball reversal from right to left will make the defense shift to create penetration. The 5-1 on ball screen will free 1 on the dribble as 3 sets screen away for 4. Options are A) 1 drives to the paint to score or B) 1 passes to 4 in the lane to score. See More

Basketball Play - "Zipper" - Post Up Set For 4 Man

"Zipper" - Post Up Set For 4 Man

Luke Riegel 09/27/2012

This is a set that is very effective when you have a 4 man with the ability to post up and play with his back to the basket. We've had the most success with this play when we run it all the way through, getting to the screen-the-screener action. If 4 initially posts-up aggressive after he downscreen for 3, he'll be more open when 1 will screen for him. See More

Basketball Play - BLOB - Double Screen Down

BLOB - Double Screen Down

Basketball HQ 02/22/2013

With this play your 4 has to set a good screen to occupy his defender, and as soon as cuts off his shoulder, 4 has to dive hard to the rim looking for a layup. As you’re working on this play in practice, make sure you work with your 2 on reading the defense to make the proper decision to end up with an open shot. This play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. See More

Basketball Play - Side Lob

Side Lob

Kyle Gilreath 07/09/2014

I recently watched some video from last year's Brayden Carr Foundation Coaching Clinic run by coach Jim Carr. This play came from the legendary John Lucas and is a very simple sideline out-of-bounds play from the side that gives you a lob. Main goal of this action is to get the lob to 5 at the rim. However, if the defense takes away the lob you have 4 cutting hard to the top for a catch & shoot as well. See More

Basketball Play - Creighton Stack High

Creighton Stack High

Dana Beszczynski 12/10/2013

This is a nice play run by the Creighton Bluejays designed at the beginning to get an open jumper off the FT line screen, but the action continues nicely and flows into a full shot clock set with multiple scoring options. The play ends with McDermott attacking the open side of the lane. If you haven't had a chance to watch Creighton play, they run some great half court offensive sets See More
