Favorite Send to FastDrawNorth Carolina ran this simple Box Set Elevator play against Tennessee the other night. The cross screen in the paint sets up the screener to run through the gate screen at the FT line. As the shooter is ready to come through the gate, the inside screener slips to the basket and receives a perfectly timed pass in the lane for the easy dunk. A great call and adjustment off the Tar Heels regular set play! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a BLOB play run by Lokomotiv Kuban from the 1st Half of their VTB League game against reigning Euroleague Champions CSKA Moscow. The curl action off the initial back screen sets up the next movement with the inbounder coming off a double stagger and curling to the weak side looking for a pass. As the inbounder is clearing the the double stagger, 5 & 4 move to set a "gate screen" for the 2 man coming through looking for the 3 pt shot. This is a bang-bang action forcing the defense to choose what to guard. When 3 receives the ball, he has isolation, looking to attack the defender or 2 has an open shot off the gate screen. Sasa Obradovic recently took over at Lokomotiv after having began the season in Greece on the bench of PAO. He is quickly turning Loko back into the team it was last season when it reached the Euroleague Final 4. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawLuke Walton ran this SLOB Elevator action for D'Angelo Russell in the 1st quarter in their game versus the Sacramento Kings. Having D'Angelo Russell fake the back screen for Julius Randle created the timing for him to get open through the screen as it made the defense hesitant. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawEvery team needs a Deep Corner Baseline Out of Bounds play. It is a situation that may come up seldomly but coaches should have a play they can go to in this situation. The Philadelphia 76ers' coach Brett Brown was prepared with this gem of a play on opening night agains the Oklahoma City Thunder. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawSerbia ran this play with 1:40 left in the 1st quarter in the gold medal game against Team USA. Milos Teodosic (2) made an Iverson cut as a decoy to set up the elevator screen and 3 point shot from Bogdan Boganovic. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is an elevator action from a SLOB box set and a second option if the elevator shot is not there. If the shot isn't there, 5 sets a screen for 4 to pop out to the perimeter for a shot or drive. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSpain often runs a unique entry into their Horns sets. They start with an elevator screen for 3, which gets him the ball in the top of the key area. 1 & 2 then cut to the corners to get into the Horns formation. They have different options depending on who sets the ball screen. If 5 sets the screen, he rolls to the basket and 4 pops. If 4 sets the screen, he immediately goes off of a flare screen from 5. If nothing is available 5 follows the ball for a pick & roll. Blog Post: Offensive Actions Breakdown - Elevator Screens See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGolden State combines a flex action with an elevator screen to get Steph Curry an open 3-point shot at the top of the key. Steph cuts off of a flex screen then sprints straight through an elevator screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Memphis Grizzlies ran this down 4 with 20 seconds left in an NBA Summer League game. In this situation they would need 2 scores and they opted to go for the 3 coming out of a timeout. The multiple screening actions from 4 & 5 caused the defensive confusion and led to an open shot for 4. 4 & 5's defenders have to guard back to back screening actions, first with the Iverson cut made by 2 and then the elevator screen for 3. If 5 cut to the basket instead of drifting to the perimeter he might have gotten a layup or at least would have created more space for the shot from 4. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great competitive catch and shoot drill. You can use one or two partners and two balls-(one can be the passer and the other a rebounder). There are 5 spots on the floor-also 5 shots that are within most offenses. There are a few options for this drill: 1) First one to hit 5 consecutive shots wins. 2)How many can you make in 1 minute? 3) How many can you make in 2 minutes? Challenge: Shooter cannot move until he hits two in a row from each spot. If he misses more than three in a row he starts over. See More
