Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns Get
02/06/2017France commonly uses the ball screen as the initial action in their Horns alignments, but it is the second ball screen that is the real catalyst. In “Horns Get” the point guard, French superstar Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs, dribbles off the first ball screen and drags his man to the wing. The screener cuts away wide to the sideline to space as the other lifted big comes over to “get” Parker open with a ball screen on the wing. Parker then has a double gap (shaded area, Frame 3) to attack coming out of the ball screen. The screener rolls to the rim and the wing in the corner runs “back action” to counter his man tagging the roll man. See More

Favorite Send to FastDraw"TAKE" Concept
04/24/2017The TAKE Concept is common in International basketball. In essesence the player passing to the big man (1 as shown) is "giving to get." He/she is passing then using acceleration to "take" the ball back from 5. The acceleration can lead to a small advantage. 5 may make one dribble, but often they step to the catch and simply "plate" the ball by holding it out to side with palm up. 1 and 5 read whether X1 trails or goes under as the ball is being taken. If the defense goes under and there is no small advantage for 1, 5 twists into a ball screen. As shown this serves as a bit of false motion into Spread Ball Screen offense. See More
