Favorite Send to FastDrawSteph Curry is one of the best in the NBA at relocating after driving and dishing. He sprints out after the penetration to open space and this creates many open looks for himself. In this drill, players will work on spacing off of a drive as well as relocating to space after a drive. This can be done from multiple areas on the court (as shown), using 2-5 players, and using a Dr. Dish Shooting Machine. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is great for late game situations. It can be used for a 2 or 3pt field goal, but has great read options for both. The set is built out of a 1-4 High set with the primary ball handler starting on the wing, the shooter bringing the ball up and primary post on the weak side of the floor. The 2 will enter the ball into the 4 at the high post. The 4 will perform a dribble handoff with the 1 on the strong side wing, while the 2 uses a flare screen out to the weak side wing. The 3 will clear out to the opposite corner. The 1 will pass the ball to the 2 off the flare screen and option 1 is the wide open 3pt jumper. The 5 will then roll to the rim after the flare screen and be ready for the dump off finish, which is the second option. This is an awesome end of game situation that uses a high level shooting threat as a distraction for a point blank layup at the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a good down screen/flex action followed by an on ball screen. Options are 4 coming off 5's down screen, 3's flex cut, and 1's penetration off ball screen. Three scoring options are available on 1's penetration; 1 drives to basket, dishes to 5, or dishes to 3 for shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening play of the second half ran by Miami in their game 7 win. The Spurs defended the first three actions well but the spacing and ball movement led to a James drive and dish to a cutting Bosh. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAs a University of Kentucky fan I have been able to watch Billy Donovan several times a year since I was a kid. It's still burned into my mind excellent post players such as David Lee, Jo Noah, and Al Horford dominating my beloved Cats on the block. Although, those are certainly not the only posts that have excelled in his system. This is one of my personal favorites of Coach Donovan and I look forward to seeing how well it works for Kevin Durant. This play is great for multiple reasons. The first, it is a natural counter to a normal secondary break action for the Gators, a spread pick and roll. The guard rejects the screen to drive baseline. The 3 man (normally for Coach Donovan is an excellent 3pt shooter) is spaced in the corner. The key to this play, is freeing up a stretch 4 for an open look. After dishing and spacing, the 1 man leads the stagger for the 4 while the 5 man completes the stagger. What happens if there is a big to big switch? This all depends on your personnel. Let's apply this to Coach Donovan's new team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. If this play is ran for Durant at the 4, the options for the defense aren't pretty. If the screen is gapped, you run the risk of Durant having a wide open look. If you switch, you risk having a center guarding arguably thefts scorer in the league. Again, you don't have KD on your squad and I know I don't. But perhaps this can get you an isolated mismatch. Questions/comments/concerns? Message me on twitter @jacobcollins34 See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis ballscreen set was run last season by the Hawks with great success. Al Horford set great screens for Josh Smith at the elbows, and with Smith's rare ability to drive and dish from the forward position, the alley oop was so tough to stop. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Indiana Hoosiers used this play during the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The setup and decoy actions at the beginning gave the defense enough distractions to cover, which made it easy for Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell to attack over a stagger ball screen, with both bigs seperating out of it. Multiple options can show up after. A clear path drive for the point guard, a kick back to the 4 for a possible shot or high low, a dish or lob to the 5 rolling to the rim. See More
