Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left wing giving the ball to 3 on a dribble hand-off. 3 dribbles middle then swings the ball to 2. At the same time, 5 screens across for 4. If 4 isn't open, he sprints out to the wing as if he is going to set a ball-screen for 2. 4 slips the screen and 5 elevates. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach Mike Budenholzer has a great playbook with a variety of plays for different situations. After a timeout in Game 1, he called a nice Elevator set for Kyle Korver, although it was covered well by the Wizards, they still got a decent look from the 3 point line. The set starts off in a Sideline out of Bounds situation and is triggered by the 4 man popping to the top of the key. The inbounder (point guard) sprints down toward the post, and v cuts back to the wing. Korver sets a cross screen for opposite wing and sprints through the elevator screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGolden State ran this play against Memphis in Game 2 for a David Lee post up. This set is run out of a traditional San Antonio Strong formation, a great shooter at the 2 like Klay Thompson is the perfect decoy to set up a post opportunity. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was the opening play for the Grizzlies in Game 2 versus the Warriors. There is a lot of moment to this play and it presents multiple options, making it a great play to get your offense started. This play presents two opportunities for Zach Randolph to post up on either block, and really takes advantage of Marc Gasol's ability in hi-lo situations. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 5 flashing to the high post then screens down for 4 at the free-throw line. 4 makes a back-cut to the basket and 1 pops out to the top of the key. Once 1 has the ball, 5 sets a ball-screen for 1 as 3 sets a cross-screen for 4. 1 looks to drive left and score, pass to 5 on the roll, or pass to 4 in the corner for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 2 then cuts into the lane and out to the right corner. 4 and 3 exchange on the back-side. 2 passes to 3 who reverses the ball to 4. Once 4 has the ball, 3 cuts through the lane and 5 steps across the lane and posts up. If 5 isn't open, 4 dribbles towards the top of the key as 2 makes a back-cut. If 2 isn't open, 4 continues his dribble as 1 makes a back-cut. 1 finishes his cut with a cross-screen for 5 inside. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe first video clip is a simple side ball screen with a double screen on the weak side of the floor. The interesting thing about this action is the spacing UK uses on the weak side of the floor. The double screen is set just inside of the three-point line which is more commonly seen in NBA sets where defenses have to play tighter to their man due to everyone on the floor being able to make shots. Kentucky ends up getting a lay-up in the post out of this action as Wisconsin can’t over help with the double screen being right below the 3-point line. The second video clip is a ball screen set at the top of the key to an open side of the floor. If the guard can’t attack the open space he throws back to the popping 4 man who looks for his own shot. On his catch the 3 man that’s stacked up with the 5 man slams 5’s defender so 4 has a straight line pass to 5 sealing in the lane. The deep post catch forced Wisconsin to double down and left UK’s guard wide open for a 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this box set play from Creighton, the post players start on the left side of the lane and the wings start on the right side. 2 screens down for 3 who cuts to the right wing for a shot. After 2 sets the screen for 3, he sprints between a double-screen from 4 and 5 to the left wing. 4 and 5 close the screen once 2 has cleared to close off 2's defender from getting through. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother counter to a normal set that teams ran in the regular season is an empty set from the Washington Wizards. The Wizards normally run a post rub into a cross screen for the big man to get a post touch, but in the playoffs they ran a counter that had the guard who normally screens the big man, runs to the corner. The other big flashes to the elbow to empty the paint and allows the big to seal his man and have an entry for a layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGregg Popovich has mastered the art of getting his second unit to run great after time outs/sets to open up the second and fourth quarters and he ran a great set against the Clippers for a 3 pointer. This set is an Elevator set for Patty Mills. Mills starts by passing the ball to the wing and cutting to the middle of the key. He fakes like he will set a cross screen for 3 to freeze his man and sprints through the elevator doors. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBrad Stevens took an underrated and a Boston Celtic team that had mid season trades and were expecting to head for an early draft pick to the playoffs. He is one of the best basketball minds in the NBA, and he runs a nice set for Isaiah Thomas with multiple options off of it. It starts with a dribble handoff to the trailing big and the point guard cuts off backscreen from the opposite big man at the elbow. The first option is for the point guard to "V" cut back off at the elbow and look for a shot opportunity. If there is not shot available, 5 will step up and set a ballscreen, because of the dribble handoff 4 is already spacing the floor, so the Spread Pick & Roll doesn't need to be setup. The next option is for 1 to continue off backscreen and set a flex screen for the wing man and then receive a down screen from 4. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA counter out of the "Hammer set" the Spurs run so well. Instead of looking for the baseline drift, Danny Green sets a flare screen for Mills and cuts to the ball for an open shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMilwaukee ran this variation of Pistol action against Chicago in Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs. This is the first time I have seen this variation of Pistol action, but with shooters like O.J. Mayo at the 2 and Ersan Ilyasova at the 4, there are numerous possibilities for counters available out of this set. See More
