This is by far the most important drill in teaching our 1-3-1. This drill incorporates the pushers and keeper working together in a piston like fashion. They must communicate who is big on ball and who is wide off the ball. In this drill, a coach will start with a ball and a pusher is big on the ball. Here is a Zone Lob play from Baylor when they played Georgia in the SEC/Big 12 challenge. Georgia played some 2-3 zone in the game, and Baylor used this early lob option to get a pass over the top forcing a foul on the Bulldogs. The play starts with 1 passing to 2 and 2 passing back to 1. 3 then acts as if he is running the baseline, but 4 and 5 both screen the bottom zone defenders and 1 looks to make the lob pass to 3 over the top of the zone.
