Basketball Play - Stack

Stack

Alan Peel 10/29/2014

With teams deciding to press in the backcourt on sideline out of bounds plays, "Stack" gives a team a chance to get the ball inbounds and either set up their press offense, attack down the floor, or clear out and set up their halfcourt offense. Basketball Play - Side Need 3

Side Need 3

Kyle Gilreath 10/17/2014

After a furious comeback in the 4th quarter last night, the Chicago Bulls ran this sideline out-of-bounds play with 1.5 seconds remaining to beat the Atlanta Hawks in Pre-Season action. In typical fashion of any great Need play, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau drew up a screen the screener action to create enough space and allow the catch & shoot for Butler before the defense could recover. Basketball Play - New Zealand Slob

New Zealand Slob

Marc Skelton 09/11/2014

New Zealand used this sideline out of bounds against Team USA in pool play of the FIBA World Cup. This belongs in your coaches' toolbox especially If teams switch screens. This play creates a nice mismatch near the basket. The Kiwis posted up the power forward and Steph Curry was helpless. See More

Basketball Play - Hammer

Hammer

Sebastian Wild 08/10/2014

This Hammer play has been on of the staples in our offense. It combines in Ballscreen-, Backscreen- and multiple Handoff (and back door) options, a number of actions that are very hard to defend. Especcially when they happen "in flow" and off of constant movement. It'll give all of your players touches and scoring opportunities, while playing on multiple sides of the floor. See More

Basketball Play - Atlanta

Atlanta

Andrew Lacey 08/10/2014

Here is a play out of the Box alignment that can be used in late game situations when you need a easy lay-up or three. We use the concepts that we try to have all of our screens set to where they cause a mismatch if the defense was to switch. Meaning other than the intial back screen all other screens in this play are Bigs/Small screening each other. See More

Basketball Play - Regular Low (on make)

Regular Low (on make)

Sebastian Wild 07/13/2014

This "Regular Low" Action is our way of flowing from our sideline-break into our half court offense after conceding a score. It's a great way to change sides of the floor early in the possession and establish a game in the paint, as we are looking inside after a lob action for our trailer or create a deep post up position for our big after a cross screen off of movement. If run with pace and crisp screening, this is a very difficult action to defend. See More

Basketball Play - Rhody Back Side

Rhody Back Side

Kyle Gilreath 06/13/2014

In their Game 4 win of the 2014 NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs ran this half-court set which included a multitude of actions. As soon as 3 cleared 4, 2 was moving to set the backscreen. This timing allowed for 5 to pin-down for 2 and receive the ball on the move popping out. 5 set such a good pick and sealed in the lane that X4 had to help in the lane and allowed for an open throwback to Diaw. Basketball Play - Elbow Power

Elbow Power

Kyle Gilreath 06/09/2014

In Game 2 of the 2014 NBA Finals the Miami Heat ran this play to get Wade an iso post lifted off the block. It seemed the defense knew this was coming but was still unable to stop the post feed as Wade had a smaller defender on him at the time. See More

Basketball Play - Iowa State "2"

Iowa State "2"

Dana Beszczynski 05/30/2014

The Iowa State Cyclones were one of the most exciting offensive teams to watch at times this season with a multi dimensional offensive attack. Here is a "quick hit" Lob play run for their talented athletic PG DeAndre Kane Perfect timing of the cut by Hogue eliminates the weak side help as Ejim steps up to set a back screen on x1 as Kane heads to the ring for the lob pass from Niang See More

Basketball Play - WEAKSIDE FLARE

WEAKSIDE FLARE

Jens Hakanowitz 05/21/2014

A drive to the basket or a kickout for a 3 are the main options of this play. You need to have your best ballhandler on the 1 and the best shooter on the 2. Coming off the dribble handoff and attacking the basket forces the defender of 5 to help on the drive. Meanwhile 5 sets a backscreen for the shooter, who flares out to the corner. There is no defender left to cover this action. That leads directly to an open look from the 3 point line. See More
