The Gamecocks usually play with four guards under Martin, although the motion sets itself okay if the 4 is also a big man. This play out of a 1-4 High set is one of my favorite quick-hitting sets, particularly in the end of a game. It draws up a quick three-pointer for a stretch 4 and an opportunity for a slipped layup at the rim. It's simple enough to be run at a variety of levels, provided your team has a solid decision-maker and passer who can play the wing. See More

This 1-4 High Offense set produces an open three pointer in the corner for a good shooter off a misdirection action. There is enough spacing on the weak side so that if the play breaks down the player with the ball can react to the defense and attack the rim. See More

I really loved this action used by the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. They look for the quick curl for the 2 man, get a shuffle screen, then a stagger, then a ball screen. This play is packed with multiple actions for the defense to guard and puts a lot of pressure on the man defending the 5 man. See More

The concept of this play is similar to Americas play, just in this set there is a stagger back screen set for the post as opposed to a simple cross lane screen. Here is another play that is run frequently by Greg McDermott at Creighton. This set play is unique because it is run from a 2-3 high set with 1 and 2 at top so that 2 can eventually receive the stagger screen later in the play (this can be done out of a 4-out 1-in set by having the trailing big exchange with the weak side guard). This is a great way for you to get your team opportunities for easy 2's or a 3 pointer from the top of the key. See More
