Basketball Play - Triple Blob

Triple Blob

Brandon Huntley 12/15/2014

Today's play is a Baseline Out of Bounds set used to get a quick shot off of a triple screen. It is drawn up to get a quick three-pointer for your best shooter or create a mismatch in the post if the defense switches. It is simple enough to be ran at all levels, provided your team can set solid screens See More

Adam Spinella 12/08/2014

Horns formation. Dragic (1) hits Morris (4) at the elbow and cuts opposite. While Dragic (1) and Plumlee (5) set the stagger away, Morris (4) engages in a dribble handoff with Green (3). As Green (3) rises on the wing with the ball, Bledsoe (2) comes off the stagger and gets the pass. See More

Basketball Play - Warriors - SLOB 3 Pointer

Warriors - SLOB 3 Pointer

Jens Hakanowitz 12/03/2014

The Golden State Warriors ran this SLOB with 11 seconds to play (down by 4 points) in Game 7 of the first playoff round against the Clippers. A triple decoy play, which forces numerous switches. In this case the whole defense focused on Curry. He decided to take a 3 point runner, but could have passed the ball to Thompson for a wide open 3 point shot. See More

Basketball Play - Double Weakside Pin Down

Double Weakside Pin Down

Marc Skelton 12/02/2014

Cleveland Cavaliers coach is probably working overtime with his FastDraw account. He ran this play with Maccabi Tel Aviv this past season. It will work really well for Mike Miller or James Jones. And if Ray Allen signs with the Cavs you could see Ray coming off the staggered screen and LeBron setting a lot more screens this season. See More

Basketball Play - Ball Screen with Baseline Double Screen

Ball Screen with Baseline Double Screen

Basketball HQ 09/03/2014

Baseline double needs to hit the shooters defender on the screens. Shooter can choose to curl in instead of straight cut to the corner if they want, read the defender. Having multiple actions in the same play usually ends up in a good shot for your team. By using the ball screen at the top of the key you force the other teams big men to watch the play and be in the help. This allows for the shooter to come off the baseline double for the open shot in the corner. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More

Basketball Play - Atlanta

Atlanta

Andrew Lacey 08/10/2014

Here is a play out of the Box alignment that can be used in late game situations when you need a easy lay-up or three. We use the concepts that we try to have all of our screens set to where they cause a mismatch if the defense was to switch. Meaning other than the intial back screen all other screens in this play are Bigs/Small screening each other. See More

Basketball Play - "Horns 2"

"Horns 2"

Luke Riegel 06/23/2014

This is a possible counter action to the traditional "Horns" double high ball screen action. The set is particularly effective if you have guards that are good at moving without the basketball and shooting while coming off screens. The floor spacing allows your guards to read how they are being guarded defensively and to take advantage of curl and fade cuts. See More
