Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 18.6 seconds in OT and the Clippers down 118-115 to the Nets, Doc Rivers ran this ATO action. Since J.J. Redick's defender stays attached to him and does not help on penetration, Jamal Crawford's defender has to rotate from the weak-side to wall off penetration. As a result of the defensive rotation, Chris Paul finds Jamal Crawford on the weakside for the open 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Toronto Raptors ran this SLOB play down 3 with 2.4 seconds left in their game against the Sacramento Kings. The play was designed with options for their two best 3 point shooters to get a look at tying the game. 2 uses the cross screen from 5 to set up a stagger screen for 1 for the first option. 5 then sets a second screen for 2 to get him a shot up top for the second option. Favorite Send to FastDrawSFA went into yesterday's ESPN Marathon having won 28 consecutive games at home. Their last loss came against Northern Iowa in the 2014 ESPN Marathon. Kyle Keller inherited an SFA Team rich in tradition and NCAA appearances the last years. Keller comes to the Lumberjacks after having served as an Assistant at Texas A & M for Billy Kennedy. In yesterday's match-up against Big South opponent Longwood, they found themselves in a tight match all the way down the stretch. TJ Holiday had it going for the Jacks though and this little Box Set was designed to get him a look at the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 41.3 seconds in the 4th quarter and the Cavaliers up 117-115, Coach Tyronn Lue ran this EOG lob action for LeBron against the Toronto Raptors. With Channing Frye in the opposite corner to space the floor it eliminates weak-side help and gives LeBron space to cut to the rim on the strong-side of the floor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 37.2 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter with the score tied at 102, Brad Stevens ran this EOG Lift Pick & Roll action (4 or 5 man at the wing as opposed to the corner) against the New Orleans Pelicans. What makes this simple play work effectively is that Brad Stevens designed this action to get Isaiah Thomas attacking with his strong hand downhill. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Orlando Magic ran this isolation play with the score tied and 10 seconds left in their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. 2 makes an Iverson cut across the screens from 4 & 5. This cut is a decoy designed to draw attention from the defense. It is very effective when this is done with one of your primary scorers. 5 then screens for 4, resulting in an isolation where 4 can go 1 on 1 attacking the basket with his dominant hand. In this play x5 had to make a switch onto 4 which can also cause mismatch situations. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 30.2 seconds remaining in the 4th quarters and the Cavaliers trailing by 5 points, the Cleveland Cavaliers ran this EOG lob/tip action for LeBron against the Atlanta Hawks. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 5.8 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter against the Houston Rockets, the San Antonio Spurs ran this EOG action to get Kawhi Leonard a quick drive to the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Memphis Grizzlies ran this game winning BLOB play down 1 with 0.7 seconds left in the 4th quarter of their game against the Denver Nuggets. 3 screens for 1 who cuts to the corner to create space at the basket. The 4 curls around 5 as if going for a lob. 4 cuts back and screens for 5 who gets the lob pass from 2. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 23.3 seconds left in the 4th quarter with the score 104-95, the Charlotte Hornets ran this late game action versus the Boston Celtics. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Minnesota Lynx ran this play with the score tied 73-73 and 35.8 seconds left in game 5 of the WNBA Finals. Once the ball was inbounded, 1 made a UCLA cut into the mid-post area to receive the pass from 2. 3 (Maya Moore) set a back screen for the 4 and then ran off the screen from 5 to get the 3 point shot. Though 3 missed the shot, 4 was in offensive rebounding position and was able to collect the rebound and get to the free throw line. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe LA Sparks ran this play down by 1 with 23.4 seconds left in the deciding game of the WNBA Finals. The quick backscreen allowed the MVP Nneka Ogwumike to get the ball in the post to create a shot for the lead. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 35.8 seconds left in the 4th Quarter in Game 5 of the 2016 WNBA Finals, the Minnesota Lynx ran this ATO action. As 5 sets the flare screen for 2 this forces X5 to drop back in a help/support position to prevent the basket cut. As this is happening, 5 turns and sets a second screen for 3. Since X5 is in a help position this eliminiates any help from X5 stepping out to show on the screen and leads to an open 3-point shot for Maya Moore (3). See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith the Boston Celtics trailing by 3 points with 12.3 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter in their pre-season game versus the Philadelphia 76ers, Brad Stevens ran this set to create an open 3-point shot for James Young. However, Timothe Luwawu-Cabaroot does an excellent job of anticipating and getting over the flare screen to prevent the shot. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot See More
