This is a fun set to install. The players will love it and you'll love the result. We use a pass I first saw late one night watching FIBA basketball on NBATV. Think Manu Ginobili type play. Your player passing will sprint to the baseline, jump out of bounds and complete a cross court pass. I like this pass because if the defense tips it you get to run a BLOB (see my other posts) and most defenders, mine included are going to stop at the baseline. Part of Daily Defensive DNA. Drill can be 4 on 4 or 5/5. It is a live drill. Anytime a player isnt (1) in proper stance (2) in proper position or (3) not communicating they are removed from the drill. This teaches the importance of each possession. Option 1: Keep teams and score for a period of time. Losing teams have "parting gifts" for not winning. I saw Stephen Curry doing this before a game so we decided to make a drill out of it. This is a great drill because you (1) get conditioning and game type shots, (2) movement and (3) you can use both sides of the floor. We set the scoring as follows: The Shooter must make 3 3pt shots to complete the drill. They do not have to be in a row. Mid range Shots do not count as a make. Advanced: The Shooter must make 4/5 shots including the mid-range if they miss a 3pt shot. Expert: The Shooter must make 3 consecutive 3pt shots. See More

The goal of this play is to get the defender that is chasing the cutter to go over top on the down screen that is being set in the high post. This way when the cutter curls the screen he has a wide open lane to the basket and the high post man can hit him for the lay up. The week side needs to make sure that they space and if their man goes to help on the backdoor cut they rotate up for the open shot or drive. See More

When you come off of a down screen or out screen you don’t have to look and catch and shoot. The goal of this play is to get a shot off the screens for the shooters or a a back door layup for the wing after the big man catches it in the high post. But as you can see in the video those options were covered, but because they were ran well the big man’s defender had to help off and this allowed a good hand off back to the PG for a shot. Don’t let your players be robots teach them how to read and react in every play. Hit someone on a good screen, the cutter that is ball side needs to set his man up to back door him, if the big man hands the ball off he needs to dribble at the PG’s defender and try to seal him under.
