Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set comes from York College in Nebraska. It begins with the first option: a triple stagger for 2 coming from the opposite corner to the ball side corner. Next option is a double stagger for 1. Last is 4/5 screen and dive. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCleveland frequently runs this play to get a 3pt shot for JR Smith (2) off of a stagger screen. It is a difficult action for Smith's defender to guard, since he has to navigate his way around 3 screens. This play also puts the ball in LeBron James' hands so he can make the read on how to get the ball to Smith. NBA Finals Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhat makes Golden State so scary is its ability to play people in different spots through out its entire offense. In this action the Warriors can plug in different players/lineups and not miss a beat. Offense becomes easy when players can play multiple spots on the floor. This play sets up catch/shoot, sneak drives, cutting baskets, slips and quick punch opportunities. At any time during this set, if teams fall asleep, Curry will be open on a quick handback option on the strong side. Durant is great attacking off the elbow catch for a quick iso. There will be slip opportunities off the stagger, because Thompson, Durant and Curry are all very good at losing their defender off screens. Golden State loves allowing Green to be a playmaker. If you look at the numbers however, Thompson and Durant can both be put into this situation as well. Curry, Thompson, and Durant all score over 1.0 ppp in scoring opportunities off screens. Curry ranks in the 91st % to lead this trio. All three players score over 48.0% of the time they are put in these situations. Durant leads the trio at 49.6%. Favorite Send to FastDrawGolden State is one of the most efficient teams out of ATO sets. As a team, GSW scores .995 ppp (Points Per Possession) out of ATO situations. They are shooting 47.9% in ATOs and score at least 1 point 43.7% of the time. These numbers translate to a Top 5 ranking in ATO situations. Curry, Durant, and Thompson can occupy any of the perimeter spots. Durant can also shift to play the 4. Green can occupy 3-5. This set is designed to get elite scorers doing what they do best, moving without the ball. This set creates catch/shoot opportunities, pin/slip opportunities, and if teams fall asleep guarding the ball, GSW will take advantage of a sneak drive. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cavs needed to some open shots for their supporting cast in game 3 against the Boston Celtics. They used this play to get Kyle Korver (2) one of his four three-pointers on the night. As 3 dribbles at 4, 4 goes backdoor and 1 clears to the opposite wing. This puts 2 in a position to cut off a stagger screen from 4 and 5 for the shot. NBA Finals Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers See More
