Most of the time the stagger screen would be the main action in the play and x3 can have a tendency to relax since he's not a part of it. This play capitalizes on that by quickly going away from the stagger screen and hitting 3 on the backdoor pass. See More

The only player that doesn't really move is 3. 2 wants to make a great cut off the stagger, setting it up with a great change of pace and change of direction.
