DHO Swing Brush Screen

The play uses some false motion to open space up for a brush screen to be used to try to create an advantage to drive to the basket. UCLA Duck Stagger

Crack Down Lob BLOB vs Zone

It's baffling to me how often we would score on this simple play. We used it more as a BLOB special, about once every game or so. The less often you run it, the more effective it will be. The counter action, as seen in the diagram and in the embedded video, can also create some decent looks for your team, but that action requires more work once the ball is entered than the initial action. Drift Ball Screen Reject Hammer

Sideline Delay Concept

This "Sideline Delay" diagram and video is designed to control the clock and dictate the pace of the game through your offense. This particular strategy used a spread alignment with an empty sideline for a little twist on the typical 4 corners strategy. Box BS Throwback STS

It's always nice to have some sets up your sleeve to get your high level shooter a look from the outside when you need it. This set can be one of those play calls. Against teams that get through screens, it should work well as long as the shooter sets a great back screen. Against teams that switch, it's important that the last screener seal their own defender to free up the shooter. Video clip below. Brush Throwback Lob (Zone Set)

I always found this lob set to be creative and effective. I thought having it in the playbook was always valuable because I felt like we could steal an easy basket against zone defense, or at least get a high efficiency shot. Timing is so critical, but if the timing is perfected, this play will be hard to stop. Having your best passer in the position to throw the lob is very important, something I didn't always do a good job of when we ran this set.
