Basketball Play - 1 high Slip into roll/replace

1 high Slip into roll/replace

Kyle Brown 03/06/2013

An action I saw a lot this past weekend. Slipping the 4 man (Someone who is a good shooter) and then he becomes the replace guy on the big roll is a tough action for the defense to guard because it forces the guy guarding 5 to really defend the ball screen well. Marquette ran this action and slipped the 5 man for a layup. See More

This is a good set for getting the ball into the isolated post. Starts in a box set with cross screens for 3 and 4. Ball reversed to 3 and 4 cuts baseline off double screen from 2-5. 4 may have open shot, or throws in the post to 5. See More

Basketball Play - "Out"-Carolina/Screen-In

"Out"-Carolina/Screen-In

Kyle Gilreath 01/18/2014

John Pelphrey ran this Carolina backscreen action while the head coach of the University of Arkansas. What I love about this play is by have 2 set the backscreen to 4, a lack of communication will result in one of three outcomes: 1. Lob to 4 2. 2 will be open as X2 helped because X4 was nailed on the backscreen 3. X5 is forced to help on 2 and 5 can flash for an elbow jumper or iso-drive to the rim. If none of those options are available the pick & roll finishes up the play. With the floor spread and the pick so close to the baseline it will be difficult to help on the roll of 5 if X5 is caught helping X2. See More

With 6.4 seconds left this was the final play of regulation in game 4 win for Memphis. The game was tied at this point and Perkins ended up blocking Randolph's shot to send the game into overtime. This play will free 4 man in the lane for a quick score. 1 dribbles out to wing and 2 uses 5 to get free for three. 4 screens across lane for 3. As screen is set, 4 turns over left shoulder to catch quick pass from 1. Timing is crucial to make this play happen. Give it a try! See More
