Favorite Send to FastDrawBasic UCLA entry and ball reversal to 4 . On reversal to 3, look for possible slip to basket by 5 on down screen. 5 steps to corner, setting up back screen and lob to 4. Give it a try! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA lob play Michigan ran last night against ohio state. Probably would be the best to run this if you had a time out to spare in case you cant get it in. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the Day is "Elbow Dive Rub". Another great elbow option from our friends in the NBA. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs ran this at the 7:15 mark in the first quarter of their 104-93 game 3 win over Memphis. This is one of my favorite sets the Spurs run and it is very difficult to guard because the defender has to run off three screens and there are a variety of counters to each defensive adjustment. Often the 2 man comes offf 5's zipper screen but in this situation, 2 just cut to the top and 5 set the first of three screens. This play demonstrates just one option and read of many possibilities. The ending to this play was great because Memphis trapped the ball screen, Paker hit the pop man Duncan and then Duncan hit Paker on the backdoor cut. The unselfish ball movement by the Spurs is a great part of their offense. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis zone set is a lot of fun to run. Anytime you can get the defense to bite and give up a lay up it's a blow to their pride and gets them doubting and guessing. After this works, try not to smile too big. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great misdirection play that San Antonio has been running for years, and perfect for a great lefty passer like Manu Ginobili. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is being run more and more by professional teams. This play allows for an open post look and the use of a ball screen that spreads the defense. Favorite Send to FastDrawSlovenia's focal point of their offense during this year's European Championship was Goran Dragic who plays in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns. This is a simple box set and with good reading by the 4 man before 1 cuts into the lane, he attacks the open side drawing the foul. A good isolation set for a stronger player who can post-up and take advantage of a good match-up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThese are drills I use to expose younger players to Horns and the actions that can be run out of the set. I think showing kids the NBA actions and sets in practice will change the way they watch NBA games and increase on court IQ. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDown three with a minute to go with the defending champion Miami Heat in his building, Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts designed a brilliant play to get his team a wide open look at a game-tying three. Thanks to his beautifiul design and his players' flawless execution, the Blazers were able to tie the game on that possession and ended up securing a signature win over LeBron and company as a result. Keep an eye on Stotts, by the way, because his team is 5-0 in overtime this season and he has run some very nice stuff. See More

Favorite Send to FastDraw#1 and #2 skip the ball to each other x1 and x2 move on the flight of the ball, closing out to their man and sprinting to the helpline After several passes, the next player in line subs in on the fly with the defensive player on his side of the court and verbalizes the switch This action repeats throughout the duration of the drill See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThursday night in a heated PAC-12 battle California's Mike Montgomery drew up this quick hitting back door action to attack Oregon's overplaying defense. Cal's Junior Guard Allen Crabbe has had one heck of a stretch lately of offensive games so Oregon really started denying the ball; or at least making it hard for him to catch. California came out of a timeout last night to take advantage of such over-aggressive defense. This is a great action to run because you occupy all of your help with the stagger opposite. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was a play I saw the Pacers run against the Miami Heat in Game Three of the Eastern Conference Finals. It got Roy Hibbert a wide open shot near the rim, but before that action took place, Paul George started to back down his man in the post on an empty side, indicating an isolation option for George. Coach Frank Vogel drew up a great play here to get his two best offensive players good looks in the same action. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night in their win over Oklahoma State, the Memphis Tigers ran this post iso action in the 2nd half. One small piece of this play that is very popular is sending the post passer through to the weak side. Many coaches keep their post passer strong side and this allows for an easy dig or double down which disturbs the post isolation. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawI have seen Louisville men use this play or a variation throughout the 2012-2013 season. They ran it in the semi-finals vs. Wichita State but misconnected on the backdoor pass. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play starts with a wing entry pass followed by a hand off. 1 gets on ball screen from 4 and drives to the paint. Next look is to 2 and dump down pass to 5 on block. Third option is to look for 3 curling off screen away by 4. Give it a try! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis three point special starts with 2 getting open on wing. 3 cuts hard down lane using screens from 4 and 5. 5 then pins down for 4 as he releases outside the three point line for open look from 3. Give it a try! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis box set incorporates a elevator screen for a 3pt look. Matt Mahar, Head Men's Basketball Coach at Assumption College, showed this set at the Aspire 2 Inspire clinic in Pawtucket, RI on 8-24-13. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a set play that Bucknell ran in the NCAA tournament this year against Butler. This is a counter to a similar action that they ran earlier in the same game. In the previous play 2 would cut to the corner opposite the ball and 1 would hit 3 on the wing for an ISO. In this counter 2 stops his cut under the basket and pops to the top of the key for a catch and shoot opportunity. This is an effective set when coupled with the previously described play. This is a great misdirection quick hitter! See More
