The Lady Blue Devils of Duke have a veteran team back this year in the ACC led by Tricia Liston & Haley Peters. The Boise State Bronocs have beomce a well known team since Leon Rice arrived from Gonzaga. Since his arrival, the Broncos have established a dominant home court advantage, played near the top of the Mountain West Conference, and had their first at large selction to the NCAA Tournament. This is a nice post entry set run off a shallow dribble entry guard-to-guard out top. This is a nice play run by the Creighton Bluejays designed at the beginning to get an open jumper off the FT line screen, but the action continues nicely and flows into a full shot clock set with multiple scoring options. The Creighton Bluejays run a variety of sets designed to get Doug McDermott open looks at the basket. McDermott returned to school this year instead of turning pro to help the Bluejays transition into their new conference, the Big East. Creighton Head Coach Greg McDermott is in his 4th season at Creighton with a record of 84-30. He came to the Bluejays after coaching at Iowa State. At Creighton, he has taken them to two consecutive NCAA Tournaments and before that to the Finals of the CBI Tournament. Doug McDermott was a 1st team All American in 2012, was Captain of the World University Games USA team this summer where he led the team in scoring, FG's, FT's, 3 pointers, FT %, and minutes played. This is the opening play run by the UCLA Bruins in their match-up against Nevada the ther night. Steve Alford is in his first season at the head of the storied UCLA program. Alford left New Mexico where he built a winning program and made the Lobos a yearly team for discussion come NCAA Tourmament time. This play is a well designed action run out of Transition as the flashing post takes away thte weak side help on the backdoor action which opens the play. The stagger screen is set-up by the down screen at the elbow for the PG. With a good screening action, the Bruins were able to get an open look at the three right at the outset of the game. See More

The Wisconsin Badgers ran this BLOB play in their match-up against the Florida Gators on Tuesday night. It comes out of a 1-4 low set-up The guards begin by crossing trying to catch the defense in a "switch" situation which would possibly open up a quick hit inbounds pass on the weak side. If this doesn't happen, the 5 man sets a screen on the 2 who pops looking to catch & shoot if open. When the catch & shoot pass is not free, the Badgers utilize the SPNP as 5 pops to the corner off the ball screen looking to catch & shoot the 3 pt shot in the corner. The Florida Gators do a very good job running their half court Ball Screen Motion offense. With good screening angles, strong basket cuts, and good spacing for kick-out passes, the Gators are able too breakdown defenses with their quickness on the perimeter and the strength of their inside game. Coach Donovan does a good job adjusting his sets during the course of the game giving his team the best chance to get high percentage shots from their half court offenses. See More

The Florida Gators are playing shorthanded right now, but once their line-up is complete, they will be a very exciting team to watch. Head Coach Billy Donovan has a wealth of experience and the way he runs his half court sets demonstrates this.
