Basketball Play - Kansas Jayhawks - Box Zone BLOB

Kansas Jayhawks - Box Zone BLOB

Dustin Cooper 10/02/2018

This BLOB has become our go to call against any team that likes to play zone in baseline out of bounds situations. In the video clip below we ran this play against a 2-3 zone, we were down two with 0:05 seconds left and were able to convert a "And 1" on the play to win the game. Although this play only has one scoring option, in the 2017-18 season we scored 12 out of 15 times when running this set! See More

Basketball Play - Zone Offense - Quick Hitter - Inside Cut Blast

Zone Offense - Quick Hitter - Inside Cut Blast

Dustin Cooper 10/02/2018

A overload action used against a 2-3 or 3-2 zone. TIPS: Have your best shooter be the inside cutter to occupy the attention of the zones wing defender. In the video clip below, we ran this play against a 3-2 zone to begin the quarter. Notice how our 5 seals the bottom of zone creating an open area for 4 to find for an easy layup. Basketball Play - Zone Offense - Quick Hitter - White (Need a 3)

Zone Offense - Quick Hitter - White (Need a 3)

Dustin Cooper 10/03/2018

Coaches - are you in need of a 3 against a zone defense? Add this set to your playbook! Our head coach at New Washington has used this play for 12 years with tremendous success. We primarly use this against 2-3 and 3-2 zones. This action creates a quick overload putting pressure on the defense to cover multiple areas. There is also a slip option if the defense is able to close on the shooter quicky See More

Basketball Play - Indiana Hoosiers - Flip Shuffle STS

Indiana Hoosiers - Flip Shuffle STS

Dustin Cooper 10/04/2018

This is great quick hitter used after a timeout by Coach Archie Miller. I like this set because it uses some false motion followed with a screen the screener action that really puts pressure on the defense to communicate. As seen in the video clip below, the defenders do not switch correctly which leads to a wide open three. TIPS: Coaches incorporate false motion combined with STS actions! Give the defense a "dummy" look before entering your STS look. See More

Basketball Play - Indiana Hoosiers - Zone Attack (2 plays)

Indiana Hoosiers - Zone Attack (2 plays)

Dustin Cooper 11/11/2018

Overloading against a zone can be overwhelming for the defense. Indiana coach Archie Miller uses these two overload actions to create a 1 on 1 matchup with his bigs vs the middle of the zone. 1: In the first video clip, the wing defender is confused on who to cover and leaves the corner wide open. 2: In the last clip, the wing tries to split the wing and corner offensive player, leaving a 1 on 1 in the post, which is exactly what the Hoosiers are looking for. Basketball Play - Clear - Ball Screen Reject ATO

Clear - Ball Screen Reject ATO

Dustin Cooper 12/13/2018

Rejecting ball screens is a creative way to get your players to drive downhill. I like to use this set after a timeout after seeing how a team is defending ball screens. The more times a team has seen ball screens, the more likely they are to get caught cheating the screen allowing your player to reject the screen and get to the rim. See More

Basketball Play - Iowa Hawkeys - Double Stack Flex

Iowa Hawkeys - Double Stack Flex

Dustin Cooper 01/10/2019

A creative flex action used by Iowa head coach Fran McCaffrey. This play starts in a low double stack. This action is difficult to guard because x1 will tend to relax once he gets through the false back screen. As 1 comes off the back screen, he is immeditatley setting a flex screen for 2. This limits the time that x1 has to see the action develop. More: Shooting Drills that Enhance Your Flex Offense See More

Basketball Play - Ohio State Buckeyes - Loop Duck In

Ohio State Buckeyes - Loop Duck In

Dustin Cooper 01/11/2019

Loop cuts - also known as Iverson cuts - are a great way to shift a defense. Creating a shift followed by a counter flow can often lead to an open look. This set will almost always get you a low post catch when needed. In the video below, the ball is fed into the post from the slot. in MOST scenarios, I like the ball reversed to the lift which creates a much better angle for a post feed. See More
