Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at set play against a zone. We all know overloading zones is a great idea. This set uses the flare screen to overload and then shows a nice screen up action for an easy bucket if timed well. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a zone set to overload the defense. This play can really stress a zone by screening off a defender, engaging the gap of the next defender, and then leaving 1 defender to guard 2 players on the back side. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 1-3-1 alignment for a flare screen three-pointer. This action is stupid simple, and it works agianst man or zone. As a zone action, you would screen the top defender on that side and catch the low defender in a bump, having a 2 on 1 to work with. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn today’s diagram and embedded video we look at a conceptual zone offense. This iffense can be used against a variety of zones and can be used for many possessions in a single game without becoming stale. Favorite Send to FastDrawWe use "PINCH" as an entry against any zone look. (2-3/ 1-2-2 /3-2). The play is the run the same way, on either side. Forwards will screen in hard on the top players in the zone defense. As this happens, both shooters come out of the corner and the PG chooses a side. With the top defender in the zone screened in, the pass to the wing should force the bottom forward to come out to play the pass or the guard will have an open look at the basket. In REGULAR PINCH, as soon as the ball hits a wing, the strong side forward will dive to the basket down the laneline. The weakside forward will flash behind to the elbow. In PINCH OPPOSITE, as soon as the ball hits a wing, the opposite forward will dive to the strongside short corner , the strong side forward will stay in the middle. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. This set looks to create an advantag through screening. The wing entry and return pass just set up the action and create good timing. On the second wing pass, the baseline is screened to create the advantage. Video below. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. This set overloads the zone and makes the defense choose who they are going to cover. This set tries to make the defense "guard air" so that someone on offense is open because the defense doesn't shift to cover out of their zone. The point guard needs to be a great decision maker and read the defense properly to see who the open player will be. Video below.
