Basketball Play - Mover Blocker (LANE-LANE)

Mover Blocker (LANE-LANE)

Randy Sherman 03/05/2015

A basic summary of the Virginia Cavaliers Mover-Blocker Offense (Lane-Lane mode, their most common alignment) Rules: The three "movers" (colored in pink) cut and fill maintaining top-side-side alignment. The point and each wing should be filled by the movers. In "lane-lane" the blockers are restricted to screening along the lane line extended for the movers. They can set flare screens for a player cutting off the point, they can set pin screens for cutters exiting the lane. They can downscreen for movers. Anytime a mover pin screens along the lane lane, he then immediately buries his man and posts up Blockers cannot change sides of the the floor or screen for one another Think of it as a game of 3-on-3 among the movers and the defenders with screening help from the blockers along the lane line Movers center the basketball so the ball can see both actions. Basketball Play - Gregg Popovich San Antonio Spurs: 2-1-2 Scissor Option 2

Gregg Popovich San Antonio Spurs: 2-1-2 Scissor Option 2

Scott Peterman 03/04/2015

One of the most common three on three play in basketball is splitting the post and scissoring off the post, or first cutter and second cutter. This play uses an double staggered down screen. It involves the high post man and both guards. It's a great way to get your point guard a great shot. Gregg Popovich has built a good portion of his career wins on the efforts of veteran-laden teams, led by Hall of Famer David Robinson and future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan, playing a traditional, grind it out style of inside out basketball. It's been a style that was extremely successful, winning Popovich almost 65 percent of his regular season games (more than 53 games a season) and five NBA Championship Titles. Basketball Play - UNI Modified Flex

UNI Modified Flex

Andrew Greer 03/01/2015

Northern Iowa ran this set early in the game against Wichita State on 2/28/15. There are two ways to look at this play: 1. A quick hitter with 3 options. 2. A modified entry into the flex offense. *If all 3 options are covered you can see that if the 5 moves to the corner the set ends up in an easy transition to a continuous flex offense. See More
