Basketball Play - Elbow Bang

Elbow Bang

Doug Brotherton 04/24/2017

When building your playbook for next season, we want to give you some things to consider. For example, do your sets have anything that make them easy to scout? Do they all start from different formations? Is it difficult to flow from the base offense, into the sets? Do they all use the same action? Do the sets lack versatility? These are all challenges, which coaches must consider, and do not realize until they face the best teams on their schedule. Michigan - Driving to their RIGHT

Doug Brotherton 03/20/2017

Michigan beat #2 seeded Louisville, to advance to the Sweet 16 of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Coach Pitino said,You take away Michigan's right-hand, you have a very good chance of stopping them off the bounce. This was in reference to Louisville's struggles to keep Michigan from getting to their right hand. It is no coincidence that Michigan is able to accomplish this, despite their opponents knowing about this strength. The Wolverines do some things, which enable them to maximize their ability to get to their right hand. Look for more of this, from the hottest team in the Country, as they continue their run next week. See More

Middle Tennessee State runs a variety of Offensive sets and they do such a good job reading the defense. Basketball Play - Arizona Transition PNR Post Action

Arizona Transition PNR Post Action

Dana Beszczynski 03/18/2017

Sean Miller's Arizona Offense is very creative and provides his players with multiple cutting & scoring options. Out of this Transition action alone you have a DHO, Middle Ball Screen, and movement options that force the Defense into multiple rotations. At the end, the ability to have their 4 either step out to hit the jumper or post-up provides a finish to this action which is good for all levels of play. See More

Basketball Play - USC - "Circle 51 Dive"

USC - "Circle 51 Dive"

Doug Brotherton 03/17/2017

USC ran this half court set in their first round 2017 NCAA Tournament win over SMU. They used this "Circle Action" to get their Point Guard (1) down hill, off of a ball screen. The weak side defender helped on the roll, so USC skipped it to the opposite corner for an open three point shot. See More
