Basketball Play - MSU-Moorhead Guard Curl Post Cross

MSU-Moorhead Guard Curl Post Cross

Wes Kosel 07/23/2015

The play starts with a 2-3 high formation with all of the players above the free-throw line. 5 starts in the middle of the floor and cuts to the weak-side block as 1 passes to 4 who passes to 3. Once 3 has the ball, 4 screens for 1. 1 curls around to the block and looks to post up. 4 pops out to the top of the key. If 1 isn't open and 4 has the ball, 1 sets a back-screen for 3. If the back-screen isn't open, 3 sets a cross-screen for 5 and 4 sets a down-screen for 3. 1 looks to pass to 5 posting up or to 3 cutting up for a shot. See More

Allen throws the ball into James as James steps out from the elbow. The first option is to pass to Wade cutting off of a back-screen from Bosh. Another option is for Wade to flare the screen and have Bosh step back to the ball for the pass from James. If Bosh gets the ball, he can play a 2-man game with Wade on the right side of the floor. Basketball Play - 1-4 Set- Screen the Screener

1-4 Set- Screen the Screener

Andrew Lacey 07/10/2015

As we keep trying to improve our offensive efficiency, more and more teams are moving towards using ball screens to create scoring opportunities. At Varina we use various alignments to put the defense in a situation to limit what they can do help-side wise to defend our quick game. This is a action we use out of our 1-4 set in late game situations to get a quick shot. See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors "Elbow Lob"

Steve Kerr has also used alot of action that the San Antonio Spurs have run with their Motion Strong/Weak and he runs nice options out of this for quick hitters. The first option is a rub screen for Draymond (look for them pointing or hitting their elbow's coming up the court to trigger this). They also run a quick pindown screen for Klay that they like to start each game with, as well as a lob set for Livingston. I think they will run the lob for Shaun Livingston as an entry or way to get him into the post, his matchup off the bench may be Matthew Dellevadova that he clearly will have a height advantage with.
