Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother excellent play from the Wichita State playbook, this coming late in the 2nd half against Notre Dame. It's a double high ballscreen, with 5 setting first and a shooting 3 setting the second screen. In defending this play, because x3 stays attached to his man, x5 has to stop penetration and x2 has to pull in to bump 5 on the roll. This leaves the 2 open in the corner for a throwback 3, which was no problem for a talented PG like VanVleet to find. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAfter the 16-minute media timeout in the 2nd half, Albany was down 8, while coming up empty on the previous three possessions. They forced Oklahoma into a tough outside shot and after getting the defensive rebound; Coach Brown called a Floppy Triple set. As you can tell in the video, the play was designed to get Peter Hooley (#12) a shot. The defense was prepared to take away Hooley in the play, which left Ray Sanders (#1) wide-open coming off the screen. This is a great play to run in an After Time Out situation. You can give your two best shooters looks coming off screens. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAs many high school teams are deep into their state tournaments and as college teams prepare for their conference tournaments (and for some lucky teams the NCAA tournament as well), it is vital to be practicing “time and score” situations daily. If you and your team have been working on these scenarios throughout the year, you are in great position to execute them properly down the stretch. Here we have the situation where we must miss a FT and get an offensive rebound. This is something that must be practiced and can't just be drawn up in a huddle. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDown 22-25 to Purdue with minutes remaining in the first half, Cincinnati ran this SLOB play after a time out for a dump-off dunk. Cincinnati ended up winning this game to advance to the third round. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUCLA ran a really nice Elevator set at the end of the first half in today's matchup with UAB. They get some action before the final screen, and allow a shooter to get open to hit a 3 after a timeout. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUCLA Head Coach Steve Alford called his "use it or lose it" timeout just before half to set up this cross screen/elevator screen set. 2 is desired shooter (Bryce Alford) and set cross screen then sprints through elevator screen, See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLeading 76-74 with 53.5 seconds remaining, Wichita State ran this set after a timeout to push the lead to four points. They "screen their way into" a horns set, set a backscreen for the point guard who screens for 3 in Flex action. 5 got it in to 3 to put the Shockers up by four with 40 seconds remaining. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawXavier went on an 11-0 run and Ole Miss called timeout. After the timeout, the Rebels used this double high ballscreen throwback action to get the ball in the hands of their best player Stefan Moody. Moody scored with an explosive layup in the lane. Kickout option is there for 1 and 3 as well. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawButler used this play after a timeout near the end of the game against Texas to get Dunham in a position to drive off of a staggered screen. The play starts with the point guard dribbling to the right as Dunham cuts off of a down-screen from 5. Once Dunham has the ball, 4 and 5 set up a staggered high ball-screen. In the game, Dunham turned down the staggered screen and drove to the basket forcing Texas to foul on the penetration. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTexas used this play after a time-out in the first half. I'm always a fan of having multiple scoring options in a play, and Rick Barnes does a great job giving his team several looks at good shots in this one. The play starts with a ball reversal (1 swinging the ball to to 4 to 3). The play gets open looks off of a down screen, back-screen, and ball-screen. Texas should come back to this play and look for the lob on the back-screen with their long wings. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is as play I drew up for a group of 6th graders after showing them clips of the Golden State Warriors elevator sets. GSW tends to run them out of horns with some flex cuts and screens but I tried to simplify it for the youngsters. They tried it in a game recently and worked on the second try for a made 3. See More
