Basketball Play - Elbow Back Triple

Elbow Back Triple

Kyle Gilreath 10/11/2013

This is an offensive set that Bill Self's Kansas Jayhawks ran in the 2012 National Championship game. I love this play because of the numerous scoring options tha are very simple to teach your players to run. To see EVERY play Kansas ran in the 2012 Final Four you can do so in my eBook Championship Execution! See More

Basketball Play - Jaguar

Jaguar

Adam Spinella 09/30/2013

Jaguar is a play coming out of a high post offense, where the ball looks to go inside for a backdoor initially. If that backdoor is taken away, the set quickly expands to get two three point shooters open looks, taking advantage of how tightly the defense constricted around the lane to take away the initial backdoor. Basketball Play - Stagger to Post Action

Stagger to Post Action

Dana Beszczynski 09/29/2013

Lithuania Coach Kazlauskas has a lot of experence in Europe and his offesive schemes incorporate a lot of ball movement and screening actions. Here is a tremendous set play run against France in the European Championship Final designed to isolate their strong 3 man, but when the play breaks down, the flat screen is used to isolate the PG for either a shot or penetration See More

Short Clock ATO

Kyle Gilreath 09/27/2013

With 3.9 seconds left in Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Playoffs, the San Antonio Spurs ran this play at the end of the 2nd overtime to defeat the Golden State Warriors. X1 was able to trail the screens and stay attached to Parker. Unfortunately X5 was unaware and doubled Parker. Forcing X2 to drop and protect the rim, leaving the skip to Ginobili wide open for a 3-pointer. See More

Basketball Play - Jayhawk Iverson Lob

Jayhawk Iverson Lob

Adam Spinella 09/18/2013

Bill Self ran this SLOB play for Ben McLemore last year with the Kansas Jayhawks. When teams blanketed McLemore on the perimeter, this was a good option for him to slip to the rim while the weak side help is drawn away by a downscreen. McLemore (2) is the inbounder on this play. See More

Basketball Play - Stack Double

Stack Double

Kyle Gilreath 09/13/2013

Watching Game 6 of the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals between the Orlando Magic and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Magic ran this set to get Rashard Lewis an isolation to score. Stan Van Gundy did a great job getting Lewis isolated on the wing with this action because on the drive if any help rotated he had Turkoglu, Lee, and Austin to kick out to for a shot. See More

The Phoenix Mercury ran this play at last night vs the Chicago Sky at the end of the 4th quarter in an attempt to take the lead. As 1 came off the screen she had to option to pass to 3 coming off the stagger, throwback to 4, or attack the rim. She decided to pull up for a free-throw line jumper, which she missed. See More

Basketball Play - Davidson - Stagger

Davidson - Stagger

Adam Spinella 09/08/2013

Bob McKillop and the Davidson Men's Basketball Team run this as one option in their 4-out motion offense as a quick option out of transition. This play has the featured action of a downscreen for the big man, whom McKillop has featured frequently as a good shooter over the past few seasons. If there is a stretch shooting big man on your team, this is a nice set to get him coming off a downscreen. See More
