Crack Down Lob BLOB vs Zone

It's baffling to me how often we would score on this simple play. We used it more as a BLOB special, about once every game or so. The less often you run it, the more effective it will be. The counter action, as seen in the diagram and in the embedded video, can also create some decent looks for your team, but that action requires more work once the ball is entered than the initial action. "Gaps" Conceptual Zone Offense

In today’s diagram and embedded video we look at a zone offense scheme we called “Gaps.” We simply aligned in a 1-3-1 and used concepts to attack zone defense. We used this as our base zone offense, meaning when we saw zone, we automatically went to this concept unless I overrode it with another call. The concpet is very simple, and the details of execution are what's going to make or break the success of this concept. I liked to use this, and pair it with a set package of 4-5 plays as our zone offense playbook. Dynamic Warmup for Basketball

The Spread Offense

In this diagram and embedded video, we look at the spread offense used in high school basketball. This offense uses the high post and a series of cutters to attack the defense in a variety of ways. This offensive concept has always been a unique and interesting play style to me, ever since I first saw it when Stephen F. Austin was running it under Brad Underwood in the early 2010's. Spread Ball Screen - False Motion

Gauntlet Defense Drill

1-4 High: UCLA Floppy Duck

UCLA Duck Stagger
