Diamond alignment with 3 man taking ball out-of-bounds and your best shooter 2 at the top of the key. Option 1: Late clock situation 2 man coming off of 4's screen for a quick drive or shot . Option 2: 4 comes off 1 man's screen to the rim as 5 flashes to the ball to occupy the defense. If neither option is open then pass to the 5 man. The 5 man executes a dribble hand off (DHO) with the 3 man. After the DHO, 5 man comes off 1's screen and 2 man comes off baseline screen from 4 man. Japan has been running this "Delay" action at FIBA Asia Cup Women 2017. 1 passes to 5 and screens down for 2. 1 fakes the down-screen and slips to the basket. 5 looks to hit 1 for a layup if she is open. If the pass is not available, 1 clears to the opposite side. 5/2 execute a DHO. Here is an excellent sideline out of bounds I've seen coach Sherri Coale run over the years. I've added a few of my own wrinkles to it but its a great play with multiple options. Initial set up is a your best shooter at the FT line and best finishing guard around the slot area. Both post players are positioned on the blocks. 3 player times cut and waits for 5 to flash for basketball similar to the blind pig action in the flex offense. The point guard passes to the post player flashing to the elbow and the post immediately looks to hit the 3 man on a backdoor (vs. aggressive defense). If the backdoor is not available, the point guard receives a dribble handoff (DHO) from the post player. After receiving the DHO, the point guard stretches the play out while the 4 man flashes to the block for a potential post pass. The 5 man will then receive a back screen from the shooter for a potential lob pass. 2 shapes up after backscreen and looks for a shot or immediately looks to dribble over and post the mismatch. If the guard cannot get the ball to the post player due to being fronted, then the weakside big flashes to catch and immediately throw a high-low pass into the post. See More

SLOB set ran by the U20 Serbian team in the Eurobasket Championships in 2015. Timing of the down screen set by 4 should be practiced for timing purposes. 4 should set down screen for 2 once 1 starts the cut up to 5 to receive the stationary DHO in the slot. The false action in this set creates a solid opportunity out of the spread pick and roll. The ball coverage of the ball screen (x2) will be weak and late due to the down screen set by 4 and also with the DHO by 1. As a result, this will put extra pressure on the defending big involved on the ball screen (x5) and should create an advantage out of the spread pick and roll. See More

This DBL Drag action is well orchestrated as Mason is able to go right into a DHO with Coffey on the opposite side of the floor spreading the defense out. On ball reversal, the backdoor is opened up when Lynch relocates. Murphy with his ability to attack off the dribble drives the ball at the rim to the now open side of the floor. See More
