This sideline out-of-bounds play was run by Tom Izzo of Michigan State coming out of a time-out in need of a 3 to tie near the end of regulation in their game at Wisconsin on February 9, 2014. Adreian Payne, MSU's 4, knocked down a 3 to tie it with 10 seconds left.

1 cuts off of 4 and 5 to receive the entry pass from 3. 1 then comes off of an on/ball screen from 2.

If there is any confusion switching the on/ball between X1 and X2 there is a good chance 2 will be open coming off of the double backflare screens from 4 and 5.

Your 4 needs to be able to shoot the 3. Because X4 was providing some help for X2 on the double backflare he was susceptible to 5's downscreen which created enough space for Adreian Payne (4) to get open for a 3.
