The pitch series is difficult to defend because usually the man defending the trailer is too far off the point of the handoff to give any type of resistence. The natural counter when a defender starts to meet the trailer high is for that trailer to swing the ball to the side and run straight into a side ball screen. The Pistons have run this action for Ersan Ilyasova this season.
