Favorite Send to FastDrawWith the addition of Marc Gasol's playmaking ability, Nick Nurse has reintroduced the "Elbow" series into the Toronto Raptors playbook in the 2018-19 season. Popularized by Rick Adelman as the Corner Offense, this set allows the Raptors to utilize their versatile personnel, such as Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry, in inteerchangeable roles as passers, cutters, and pick and roll ball handlers. Often times ran at the end of games, this set allows Nick Nurse to involve all of high star players at once. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThroughout Kyle Lowry's tenure with the Toronto Raptors, this baseline out of bounds play has been used as a set-action to get him a 3-pointer in rhythm going to his preferred left. During a mid-seasoon slump in 2018-19, Nick Nurse dialled up "3" BLOB several times over the course of a few games to great success. After toggling from the inbounder and continuing into the continuous staggered screens, Lowry eventually will shoot a catch-and-shoot jumper. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAfter this play was left dormant for several years in the Raptors playbook, Nick Nurse has brought it back this season to get Danny Green perimeter jumpers. Dwane Casey had previously run this play at least as early as the 2013-14 in Toronto for DeMar DeRozan, but had left it unused in recent seasons. In 2018-19, Nick Nurse has opened several games running this play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw“Thumbs Up” is a quick hitter play run for Toronto’s shooters. Nick Nurse seemingly adapted the general concept of continuous staggered screens from plays run by Dwane Casey in previous years. This one is generally run in a normal half court scenario with the aim being to get Kyle Lowry and Danny Green good catch-and-shoot opportunities. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNick Nurse (and Dwane Casey before him) have used “62 Flip” – a play that disguises itself as a typical off-ball action but is really a ball-screen play. The Toronto Raptors debuted it in their playbook during the 2018 playoffs and have continued to use it during the 2018-19 season. A set that gets their players in motion to keep defenders moving, "62 Flip" is used in typical half court scenarios. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFenerbahce ran this SLOB to get Kelsey Plum into space and downhill attacking the rim. A simple action to create an overload on the inbound side and a wide open half of the court on the other. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great set to get Culver in space with a side pick and roll with the big sprinting from the stagger and hopefully arriving alone. Great spacing and great setup for their Twins Gate counter that is in my playbank as well. National Championship Game Preview: Texas Tech and Virginia XsOs See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great counter to their double stagger side pick & roll set you can find in my playbank as well (Twins SPNR). This is a creative design from Coach Beard and staff. National Championship Game Preview: Texas Tech and Virginia XsOs See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a sample of the Texas Tech true motion offense. This is not a set play but a picture of the sequences of actions you will have to guard when facing them. In one possession you have to guard: a drag screen, flare screen, slipped step-up screen, a pick & pop, and one last flare screen by the 5 to empty the paint. The spacing struggles at times but they force you into uncommon situations and actions that it presents the opportunity for miscommunication and scoring opportunities. Favorite Send to FastDrawBaylor opened their semi-final win with this high/low, into a double stagger. They ran this on their first four possessions. Sometimes, they even repeat the action on the second side. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAuburn ran this set in thier elite 8 game vs Kentucky in the 2019 NCAA Turnament. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn the 2019 NCAA Elite Eight, Coach Calipari ran this set over and over again, to get PJ Washington isolated. It actually features an opportunity to isolate players on either block. #FastModelMadness See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHouston ran this late in their game against Kentucky to try to tie the game. Houston runs a triple screen opposite of the isolated player to try to occupy the defense so there is no weak side help. See More
