Favorite Send to FastDrawSuns Coach Alvin Gentry ran this as a catch and shoot set against the New Jersey Nets in an end game situation. With only 2 seconds remaining on the clock, Channing Frye, a stretch-4, used a well-set double screen, or fence, from Gortat and Nash to knock down the catch and shoot three. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a common play in our area of Northwest Ohio that I'm sure is used in college and pro's. This play is great because it is designed to for a high post entry, and a "scissor" cut with 2 guards. You can get good looks for 3's off the scissor cut and double screen. This play also offers a chance to enter to the post player with a double screen and post entry, or the big can fake handoff to both players, and have a high post isolation. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAlvin Gentry and the Phoenix Suns used this play when they needed a three pointer with about three seconds left in the game. It's designed for Channing Frye, a stretch forward, to come off a flare screen for a catch and shoot attempt. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawWith the endless talk of Football on ESPN these days its hard to escape the pigskin, but I think there are a lot of things we can learn from Football Coaches. The use of misdirection is key in the game of football and under-utilized in the game of basketball. The first set is what our team calls "Uno" because it is a play for our 1 man. You will notice that it is a common action and either you or someone in your league probably runs this play. The second play is just a counter to the action, a misdirection play based on how the defense is playing you. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a play used last season by the Washington Wizards under coach Randy Wittman. The Wizards would try to get an open three pointer for Bradley Beal or Martell Webster, who they start in the corner out of a Horns formation. You'll see the defense pay a lot of attention to John Wall on this play as well; it's one of the few occasions he's been utilized as a screener and this is a good example of how it can be effective for the best player on a team to be the screener - it sets up openings for others. Favorite Send to FastDrawRhody Fist Flare is a play designed for a post up that also has an option for a three pointer off a flare screen. If your team runs a 3-out 2-in offense this can be an interesting set to include for a post isolation with good off-ball movement. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawQuick three pointers and post-up opportunities that take place simultaneously can be very useful for a team that needs a bucket and can afford to shoot from any spot on the floor. Drag DHO Flare is a play designed to get a post up and a flare screen opportunity at the same time. This play designs a shot for 2 from the corner and specifically targets a miscommunication amongst defenders x4 and x2. See More
