Basketball Play - Callisburg Ladycats - Vegas Early Offense

Callisburg Ladycats - Vegas Early Offense

Robert Payne 06/21/2018

This early offense is designed to create a quick hit for a trailing 5, using a down screen spot up or back screen for a layup. It works on either side of the court. This action creates pick/roll, pick/pop, and drive/kick opportunities. We use this to get a quick look and then roll into our offensive set. The 3 is our best decision maker /shooter. See More

Basketball Play - Cleveland Cavaliers - 13 PNP Switch

Cleveland Cavaliers - 13 PNP Switch

Matt Wheeler 05/31/2018

The Cleveland Cavaliers frequently use this play to force the defense to make a switch on the ball screen and get LeBron James an advantage against a smaller defender in the mid-post area. 1 looks to get the ball directly to James (3) out of the ball screen then lets him go to work. If the defense is fronting James and 1 can't get him the ball, 5 cuts to the high post area to receive the pass from 1. With the defender now on James' back, 5 can make a pass leading James to the basket. NBA Finals Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers See More

Basketball Play - Cleveland Cavaliers - Flip PNR

Cleveland Cavaliers - Flip PNR

Matt Wheeler 05/31/2018

The Cleveland Cavaliers have taken a page out of the playbook from LeBron James' time with the Miami Heat to put him in a situation where he can attack the basket and create out of a ball screen. The pindown screen for 1 and the pass back to James (3) sets 1 up for the flare screen. x5 has to stay back on the flare screen from 5 to protect against a layup from 1. This puts x5 in a drop coverage where he has to contain the ball as James come off the ball screen from 5. 5 rolls to the basket to look for the layup as 4 and 2 provide spacing on the weak side. Basketball Play - Houston Rockets - Early Drag Options

Houston Rockets - Early Drag Options

Austin Anderson 05/28/2018

Houston is at its best when it is able to control tempo and score quickly. Every NBA team utilizes the drag ball screen in early offense. Harden, Paul and Gordon are very good at getting into the paint and creating. Harden is very good at creating contact and finding Capela on lobs. Paul is especially good at waiting to the very last moment to make the right play. Early Drags create penetration, kickout 3's and lob opportunities. This action sticks to what Houston wants to do.... 3PA and layups. See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors - Elbow Stagger Option

Golden State Warriors - Elbow Stagger Option

Austin Anderson 05/28/2018

What makes Golden State so scary is its ability to play people in different spots through out its entire offense. In this action the Warriors can plug in different players/lineups and not miss a beat. Offense becomes easy when players can play multiple spots on the floor. This play sets up catch/shoot, sneak drives, cutting baskets, slips and quick punch opportunities. At any time during this set, if teams fall asleep, Curry will be open on a quick handback option on the strong side. Durant is great attacking off the elbow catch for a quick iso. There will be slip opportunities off the stagger, because Thompson, Durant and Curry are all very good at losing their defender off screens. Golden State loves allowing Green to be a playmaker.
