Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play was used in the first half against Utah to get the ball to Winslow posting up. The play starts with an entry pass to Okafor at the high post. In the game, the Blue Devils turn the ball over. Nonetheless, this was a good idea by Coach K to get the ball to Winslow down low. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play was used against San Diego State to get an open 3-point shot at the top of the key. The play starts with a high post entry and a fake dribble hand-off action to the left side. On the right side, a down-screen is set for 2 who cuts up off of the screen to get the hand-off from 4. In doing this, a staggered screen is essentially set for 2 leaving him open at the top of the key for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are two hi/lo options out of the horns set from Miami. Miami is playing well in the NIT with a chance to advance to the finals with a win over Temple. In these options, the Hurricanes use a horns staggered screen with the point guard dribbling from left to right. In the first option, 4 rolls and 5 sets a pin down for 3 in the corner. Once 3 gets the ball he looks to pass inside to 5 or to 4 flashing high post for a hi/lo look. In the second option, 4 sets a flare-screen for 5 before cutting to the block. If 5 isn't open on the screen, he sets a screen for 3 who gets the ball at the top of the key. 3 again looks at 5 or to 4 flashing high. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a play Michigan State has run throughout the tournament. Timing is crucial. 2 must look to change pace on his cut around the three screens. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawXavier runs a nice Horns Set with weakside action to occupy the defense to get a Wing PNR setup. The look to the flare action is key, and then turning to execute a DHO and Pick & Roll. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawComing out of halftime to start the 2nd half, the Albany Great Danes were down 9 to the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Will Brown called a Horns Backdoor set to start the half that would give one of their top scorers, Peter Hooley (#12) an easy scoring opportunity. Earlier in the 1st half, Albany ran numerous plays from the horns set, which you can tell by how the defender was expecting Hooley to come off the dribble handoff. Making a quick in game adjustment, Hooley sets the defender up for a backdoor and finishes the play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIowa used this set to get an open 3 in their Round 2 matchup with Davidson. The last action of the play netted Iowa a 3 from the top of the key. This horns action from the Hawkeyes is a 4 movement set with a ball screen, back screen, and two down screens for shooters. Iowa used this multiple times during the game hitting earlier options in the set. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNorth Dakota State ran this Horns set early in the game against Gonzaga. Looking to get their stretch 4 an open jump shot, they run a nice Horns set into a 2-man game on the wing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawRobert Morris needed a basket against duke midway through the first half. They run Horns into a Pindown DHO/Curl option except this time after 1 comes back for a DHO he catches his man overplaying and cuts backdoor for a layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLeading 76-74 with 53.5 seconds remaining, Wichita State ran this set after a timeout to push the lead to four points. They "screen their way into" a horns set, set a backscreen for the point guard who screens for 3 in Flex action. 5 got it in to 3 to put the Shockers up by four with 40 seconds remaining. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening set from Belmont to begin the second half. Horns set to get a pindown screen for your best shooter to come off in space. This time Virginia had 2 defenders go with the shooter and left an open big man for a layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNew Mexico State used this play early in the first half against Kansas. The play resulted with a foul on Kansas, but the Aggies are showing quality actions to get open post-ups and shots. The play starts with the point guard dribbling to the right as if he is going to use the ball-screen from 4. Instead, 4 slips the screen to the opposite block. 1 uses the ball-screen from 5 and looks for 4 posting up inside. If 4 isn't open, 1 looks to pass to 2 cutting up off of a down screen from 5. Favorite Send to FastDrawCincinnati ran this Horns set 3-4 times throughout the first half against Purdue. The goal of this set is to create mismatches either on the Pick & Roll with replace action, or to force the defensive bigs to switch and then post up on the mismatch created. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOhio State ran this modified flex vs. VCU after setting it up with multiple possessions of their basic horns set. After using misdirection, the VCU defender is expecting a second misdirection screen but the 1 only uses one ball screen taking him to the wing. The help side defenders are also anticipating a guard attack or post dive to the paint. This action allows the ball handler and the cutter (flex) the entire side of the floor to work with. During this particular set the flex cut was covered and the ball was sent to the 2 coming off of a stagger screen. See More
