Basketball Play - South Carolina (W) - Horns 53 High Low

South Carolina (W) - Horns 53 High Low

Aseem Rastogi 04/01/2017

With 5:57 left in their Final Four matchup with Stanford, Coach Dawn Staley called this Horns set to get a quick high low for their 3 player who was being guarded by a smaller defender. South Carolina loves to run their high low action with A'Ja Wilson and Alaina Coates, but with Coates nursing an injury, they had to turn to an unconventional high low action to keep it rolling. Basketball Play - Texas A&M (W) - Double Low / Triangle & 2 Attack

Texas A&M (W) - Double Low / Triangle & 2 Attack

Aseem Rastogi 03/30/2019

With 2:45 left in the 1st quarter against Notre Dame, Texas A&M ran this beautiful quick hitter against ND's Triangle and 2 defense. With elite scorers like Chennedy Carter and Kayla Wells, Notre Dame employed a junk defense to slow them down. TAMU was ready and ran this to get a 2 on 1 at the rim. Though they didn't score (blocked layup), the preparation for this defensive adjustment and the players' ability to execute was fantastic. A good set to keep in the back pocket for teams with the luxury of having two stellar scorers. See More

Basketball Play - Texas A&M (W) - Double Stack High-Low / Triangle & 2 Attack

Texas A&M (W) - Double Stack High-Low / Triangle & 2 Attack

Aseem Rastogi 03/30/2019

In their matchup with Notre Dame, Texas A&M had to deal with a Triangle and 2 on their two best scorers, Chennedy Carter and Kayla Wells. They were ready with another excellent quick hitter to get a potential post to post high low for a layup. Using Carter and wells to create space, they were able to use well-timed pin screens and the defense against themselves to find openings to score. See More

Basketball Play - Las Vegas Aces - Baseline Double Cross

Las Vegas Aces - Baseline Double Cross

Aseem Rastogi 04/17/2019

One of the two base offenses for the Aces is this simple baseline cross set. The spacing and the left side entry take advantage of the Aces' personnel, as their point guard (Kelsey Plum) and 5 (A'Ja Wilson) are both left handed. The set starts with both wings crossing under the rim off brush pindowns from 4 and 5, followed by a wing entry and an immediate post feed. There are several subsequent options that allow the Aces to get great looks at the basket. Las Vegas Aces - Middle Ball Screen Hi-Lo SLOB

Aseem Rastogi 05/06/2019

The Aces use this SLOB to get the ball to the pinch post area quickly as well as to bridge into their main sets on offense. The space created by the BLOB allows star player A'Ja Wilson to face up and get to the rim. Other options are to make a high-low pass, or hit a slasher come off a triple stagger screen along the baseline. Basketball Play - Split Post Reads

Split Post Reads

Justin Schueller 06/09/2016

Within the system that I have been evolving over time, I realized the importance to have strong post action but also to have variation in what occurs off the post catch. We teach this action in various levels from U12s in Country Victoria through to our Junior National teams. With this idea, we now teach two actions relative to where the ball is caught, which i term "post zone". the catch being In the post zone or out of the post zone. In all of our teaching we have a strong emphasis of if it is 1 v 1 its on you to score, if you see 2 you must pass the ball, this is the same for our post players and a reason for having multiple cutters off the weakside. Australian basketball has followed the late clock philosophy of Europe with late penetration, out of post play we like to finish with either on balls on the seem or middle on ball, depending what post zone the ball was caught in.
