About This Play/Drill

In their matchup with Notre Dame, Texas A&M had to deal with a Triangle and 2 on their two best scorers, Chennedy Carter and Kayla Wells. They were ready with another excellent quick hitter to get a potential post to post high low for a layup. Using Carter and wells to create space, they were able to use well-timed pin screens and the defense against themselves to find openings to score.

  • 3 busts out of the stack first & sprints to the wing to separate from defender and catch the pass from 1.

2 sprints after 3 on the X action to the opposite wing.

1 cuts under the rim after passing

  • 4 pin screens x4 into the lane as 1 busts to the corner to receive the ball from 3.

x3 drops to cover x4 as she sprints to cover her assignment in the corner in the triangle and 2.

  • x5 blasts to the nail area vacated by x3 to receive the pass from the 1 who has dribbled up the wing.

As x3 recovers to her "spot" in the triangle and 2, 4 spins and looks for the high low from 5.

  • 5 throws the high low pass - in the game she overthrew the ball, but 4 would have an opportunity 1 on 1 with x5 at the rim.
