Basketball Play - Slice Fake Hand Off Iso

Slice Fake Hand Off Iso

Matt Hackenberg 05/13/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a misdirection set to create a gap drive. Using a slice screen to create a catch at the top the key, the action flows one way then peels back for a double gap attack. Basketball Play - Post Continuity Offense "Tight"

Post Continuity Offense "Tight"

Matt Hackenberg 05/02/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a continuity offense to play through the post. This is an old school offense featuring lots of post up opportunities and high/low looks. If you like simple concepts and want to play through the post, this is a good option. Here is the breakdown drill to work on this concept in practice. Basketball Play - 41 Slice Double Stagger

41 Slice Double Stagger

Matt Hackenberg 04/26/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 4-out alignment. The slice screen into the stagger is not original, but I think hard curling the first stagger and then running a second stagger is very interesting. It may take some time to develop, but I think it's likely the second player off the staggers can be open. Basketball Play - Box Iverson STS

Box Iverson STS

Matt Hackenberg 04/25/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a box alignment. I like how quickly this set play gets to the point. Screen the screener actions can be tough to defend, especially for teams that get through off the ball screens. Basketball Play - Fake Hand Off Gap Drive

Fake Hand Off Gap Drive

Matt Hackenberg 04/18/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 2-1-2 alignment. This play gives a forward a nice opportunity to drive double gap to score or kick to a shooter in the corner. This play is best used in a series where the ball is entered the same way, but the hand off actually takes place. South Carolina Gamecocks WBB - 3 Low Step In BLOB

Tony Miller 04/08/2022

Watch the video below as Coach Tony Miller uses FastDraw, the #1 play diagramming program for basketball coaches, to break down this baseline out look from 2022 NCAA Women’s D1 National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks. This was a common look as Player of the Year Aliyah Boston inbounds the ball, and while action occupies the defense, she steps in for a post catch. Send to FastDraw using button above. Basketball Play - Transition Slice

Transition Slice

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of transition. I like the dribble entry right into exploring the action from transition. Most teams rely on the wing entry so much, so eliminating that step here and there can help the offense run more smooth.
