Basketball Play - Miami Heat "35 Slice"

Miami Heat "35 Slice"

Brandon Mullis 11/05/2015

At the end of the 2nd quarter of their final preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Miami Heat ran this set to Gerald Green to get to the rim for a wide open lay-up. Green came off the wing ball screen attacking the rim, but also had options to pass to a cutting Josh McRoberts or shooters on the perimeter spotting up. This is really good action for an end of shot clock or end of quarter type of set, to get one of your best penetrators and athletes attacking the rim, or if the defense collapses on penetration, a kick out for an open 3-pointer. Basketball Play - Charlotte Hornets ATO Play for Stretch Big

Charlotte Hornets ATO Play for Stretch Big

Jacob Collins 10/05/2015

It's never too early. I know I am itching to get back into the gym and start working with my guys. Thanks to my autorenewal of League Pass, I've been able to catch some glimpses of a few NBA teams working young guys in and trying to get timing down. This is a play for a stretch big, that came after a timeout in the 2nd half of the Charlotte-Miami preseason game on Sunday. Another resource that coaches can use in the drudgery of waiting for practice to start is NBAtv. All week last week, NBAtv's crew were running their series Inside Training Camp and it was awesome. The interaction between players is fun to watch and there is no doubt that you can take a drill from each practice. See More

Basketball Play - Washington Wizards "Special"

Washington Wizards "Special"

Brandon Mullis 09/03/2015

The Washington Wizards were tied with the Orlando Magic with 0.8 seconds remaining last December. After calling a timeout, Coach Randy Wittman drew up this SLOB set designed to get one of his better shooters (not named Bradley Beal) coming off a quick screen and then slice to the corner to clear out the help and the lane area to open up the rim. Beal, the athlete/dunker in this set, simultaneously comes off a screen from a big and then rolls back to the rim for the game winning lob lay in. See More
