Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs were very effective with this SLOB against the Heat. Lamarcus Aldrige was playing the 4 spot in this lineup, Danny Green was at the 2, Gasol at the 5, Patty Mills at the 1, and Kyle Anderson took the ball out as the 3. Your best shooter is opposite of where the ball is being inbounded. Your best ball handler or decision maker comes off the pindown. Your most skilled big sets the ball screen and pop. The big does not want to roll in this situation (unless the defense switches little on big) to enable the spacing that the guard needs to get down hill to make a decision to score. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPinch Post set commonly run by Oregon Ducks to get a forward into an Isolation situation at the high post. 4 has option to attack and score, or find shooters spaced if defenders come help. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTim Miles runs this many times throughout a game to get a hot shooter a shot. The shooter starts head under the rim. 5 sprints into a ball screen and slip. This leads to the shooter's defender having to tag and protect the slip, giving the shooter separation to use the pin down from 5 to get a shot off. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play by Richard Pitino is a great misdirection set. It really tries to test the defensive team on the backside of the flare screen coverage. If the flare screen support is too much, defenders will be late on ball screen support. This became a money play with Minnesota down the stretch. The big that sets the ball screen can also slip it. If the defensive team stunts at the ball screen too hard, it is best to have a best shooter (3) on the strong side of the ball screen (the player who just came off the flare). Favorite Send to FastDrawSteve Kerr is known for his free-flowing read bases offense. Here you will see Sean Livingston throw it in and usually Laker cut off the post ( Splits action). Instead, he pins in for Klay who goes right into a DHO. This is very hard to guard off of a post up due to the help side defense being screened. See More
