Favorite Send to FastDrawCleveland ran this ATO play to take advantage of Boston's tactic of switching the flare screen, and got a layup for Jeff Green (4). The play started with LeBron James (3) cutting to the top to receive the pass from 1. This got the ball in the hands of their best passer. 4 sets the flare screen for 2 and slips to the basket. 5 sets a flare screen for 1 on the other side of the floor to occupy the defense. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn Games 1 and 2 of the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics got a lot of credit for their smooth switches defensively. In games 3 and 4, the Cleveland Cavaliers countered with some basic actions to pick on the switching defense. Their most effective action was their "Point Flares," with LeBron James as the passer from the middle of the floor. The corner to wing flare allows the screener to seal and cut to the rim, for a pass over the top. This set gave the Celtics fits, resulting in multiple layups for Cleveland. Favorite Send to FastDrawPhiladelphia 76ers - ATO Favorite: This ATO is out of the "EAR TUG" Series. Play is designed to get Simmons to the post to create. "Number-Number" tells you who is involved with the action. "2-5" are involved. 2 flares off 5 (Ear Tug). 5 then rip screens/back screens 1 to the block (post 1). "Bump" refers to the 5 setting a low ball screen for 1. An option out of this play is to have Embiid slip the "BUMP" for a lob look. Click for more 76ers XsOs! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPhiladelphia 76ers SLOB Action. Philly loves running regular actions out of SLOB looks. A majority of its SLOB's will start with a strong side back screen and a weak side pin to the top. In this action from there, Simmons gets them into their "Ear Tug" Series which looks a lot like "Horns". "Number-Number" tells you who is involved in the action. So for Ear Tug 25 Pop, the 2-5 are in action. Simmons comes off the 2 (Redick/Belinelli) and the 2 is flared by the 5 all the way out to the wing (Pop). Redick/Belinelli have the green light to shoot if they get open. Simmons then receives a RIP/Back screen from the 5 and clears. If the lob or dump down to Simmons is there, they will take it. Sequence ends with Embiid playing a 2-man game with Redick/Belinelli. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPhiladelphia 76ers Side Ball Screen Action: The 76ers love getting Ben Simmons into ball screens, but they also use this opportunity to disguise action for Belinelli and Redick - two of the best shooters in the league at coming off the move. Simple action, but the timing is crucial. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFirst play ran by the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against Boston Celtics. Great play because of the options to take advantage of how the defense plays the flare screen. Options to beat both switch and no-switch strategies. Screen-the-screener (STS) action to finish. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Houston Rockets have used this "Snap Hammer" set to open the fourth quarter of multiple games. Look for it in the playoffs, as it is a really tough set to guard, with CP3 as the primary ballhandler. See More
