In this BLOB Play, 1 starts with the ball out of bounds and 4 screens for 2 at the opposite elbow. 5 dives down to the low post looking for a quick pass if the defense isn't ready. If 5 isn't open, he steps towards the middle of the lane looking to get in x4's way. 4 rubs off of the screen from 5 and looks for the pass at the block. See More

A traditional screen the screener set out of this normal formation would have the 5 man screening for the guard so the guard can pop to the corner and the 5 can dive to the rim. In this particular play Wisconsin reversed the action as they had already ran the traditional screen the screener once. Kaminsky instead of screening in received a screen and was able to roll right to the basket for a wide open slam dunk. #10 Nigel Hayes stays spaced out all the way on the opposite side of the floor to remove the other big from being located near the basket. Although a very basic play it accomplished exactly what UK was hoping for, 1 on 1 with the ball 15 feet from the rim in their best dribble drive player’s hands. In the video included you will see that #1 Booker took the ball out and didn’t run the play correctly. You can tell he screwed the play up because #5 Harrison in the corner of the court is pointing and yelling at him to run off the double screen being set by the 4 & 5. Booker entered the ball to #2 Harrison who popped back to catch the ball at the elbow. With a shooter in the ball side corner, and the in-bounder running off a double screen set by the two bigs it eliminates help side defense so that Harrison now can play 1 on 1 from 15 feet away from the basket. In this box set out-of-bounds play, there are 2 options to score. Option 1) 5 sets a back-screen for 3 who cuts to the rim. If 3 isn't open, 2 passes to 4 on the wing. Once 4 has the ball, 2 cuts to the left wing off of a screen from 3 under the basket. The ball is reversed to 2 for a shot. Option 2) 2 passes the ball into 4 on the wing. 4 passes to 1 then screens down for 2. 2 cuts to the right wing for a shot. See More

In this box set, 3 pops out to the corner and gets the inbounds pass from 2. 3 then dribbles up towards the top of the key off of a ball-screen from 1 as 2 cuts to the opposite wing off of a double cross-screen from 4 and 5. If 2 isn't open, he cuts into the lane and 1 cuts to the left corner off of 4 and 5's screen. See More
