Wisconsin - Swing Elevator

Matt Wheeler 11/01/2017

Wisconsin ran this play late in the second half of their 2017 NCAA tournament game against Florida. Down 7 at the time, they were looking for a three point shot. The Badgers used misdireciton to set up the elevator screen by starting the play on one wing and swinging the ball to the opposite side of the floor. The ball movement caused the defense to shift and relax.1 then cut through the elevator screen from 4 & 5 to receive the pass from 2 and get an open shot. Boston Celtics - Swing STS

Ryan Nguyen 07/07/2017

This is a counter out of the Boston Celtics "Swing" series that they've been running at the 2017 NBA Summer League. 3 is overplayed on the wing and denied a pass, so he back-cuts to the basket. 3 sets a cross screen for 4 then immediately receives a down-screen from 5. 3 comes off of the down-screen looking for a pass from 2 for a shot at the top of the key or drive to the basket. This is a counter out of the Boston Celtics "Swing" series that they've been running at the 2017 NBA Summer League. After 4 receives the ball on the block, 5 sets a back-screen for 2. 2 cuts to the basket looking for a drop pass from 4 for a layup. See More

Basketball Play - Brad Stevens - DHO Swing STS (ATO)

Brad Stevens - DHO Swing STS (ATO)

Doug Brotherton 04/17/2017

Brad Stevens ran this ATO set in the first half of Game 1, against the Chicago Bulls. It resulted in back-to-back baskets for the Celtics. The first basket was a lob. On the second basket, the Celtics ran the set all the way through. The key to the set is that the Celtics used their best shooter to set the back screen, which eliminated the Bulls' ability to help. More coaches should use their best shooters as a screener, when their team is in need of an easy basket. Great design by Coach Stevens! See More
