Syracuse - Orange "Double Fist"

Dana Beszczynski 04/01/2016

Head Coach Jim Boeheim has a few ways he likes to run his Double Fist quick hit action. Against Gonzaga in the NCAA Tournament, the Orange ran it this way. 1 comes off the double high ball screen right into a DHO with 2 (who shot the 3 pt shot behind the hand-off) as 5 & 4 move to set the double stagger screen for 3 coming out of the opposite corner. Syracuse "FIST"

Dana Beszczynski 04/01/2016

The Syracuse Orange have 3 very good shooters in Trevor Cooney, Michael Gbinije, and Malachi Richardson. This is Syracuse's "FIST" Set against M2M Defenses. Shooter runs into the lane, tries to get the defender leaning one way or the other and then the shooter sprints out off the single screen looking to catch & shoot. Once the first shooter goes out, the PG who filled the wing, makes his run into the lane and follows. See More

North Carolina - Drag Spain Stagger

Wes Kosel 03/26/2016

North Carolina used this play against Indiana in the Sweet 16. It is a hard play to guard because of the various actions occurring. The initial back screen off of the ball screen roll (Spain action) can often open up a lob. If that isn't there, they look for a staggered shot on the left side. See More

Texas A&M - Middle Pin Horns Twirl

Wes Kosel 03/25/2016

Texas A&M used this play to get an open look for a shot on a weak side fill. The initial pin down gets them into a horns set and then the guard curls around the down screen to the opposite wing for a shot. They didn't get a shot and ended up turning it over, but a good action nonetheless. See More
