Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Toronto Raptors have utilized elements of the Flex offense throughout their playbook over the years. A consistent setting that Head Coach Dwane Casey has displayed with Flex actions in is out-of-bounds plays This set leverages the team's guards and their versatility as finishers, screeners, and perimeter shooters. Additionally, that versatility allows the team to invert their personnel's positioning on the court and put the defense in unusual scenarios. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavs ran this inverted variation of the Horns set early in game 4 against the Toronto Raptors. Normally in a Horns set 5 & 4 set the ball screen up top with 2 & 3 in the corners. In this lineup the Cavs have 4 shooters spaced around LeBron James (3) so it was easy for the guards and posts to switch roles and still keep everyone spaced on the perimeter. 5 & 4 set pindown screens for 1 & 2 then cut to the corners. 3 turns the corner on the ball screen to look for a shot or any of his teammates spaced around the 3 point line. Favorite Send to FastDraw"The Swing is a four-out patterned offense with continuity. All five players are interchangeable, and spacing, screening, cutting and accurate passing are vital. All five players have opportunities to post up inside, and the Badgers often invert their offense and post guards. The offense is deliberate (Wisconsin ranks 333rd out of 351 in the nation in adjusted tempo), often with multiple passes and places value on each possession with high percentage inside shots, or free-throws. Unlike some of the recent, newer offenses that feature dribble penetration as their engine of point generation, the Swing offense is truly a “team-offense” that places a premium on good passing, screening and cutting." - Randy Sherman - http://bballbreakdown.com/2015/02/14/wisconsin-badgers-inside-the-best-offense-in-college-basketball/ See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan State ran this play early against Virginia in the NCAA round of 32. MSU runs this Forwards Out look, which is very similar to NBA Chin action but with the guards and forwards inverted, and can run many different options out of it. The Wide option is designed to put x5 in multiple help situations, and here x5 overhelped on the wide pin down, resulting in a slip to the basket for an easy dunk. See More
