Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan ran this triangle set often during NCAA Tournament, particularly early in games. The motion creates a lot of movement, and ends with the ball in your best player's hands. The ball screen typically involved Stauskas (2) and Morgan (5). Because of the attention Stauskas gets, it often resulted in an open lane for Morgan to slip, because of the spacing it is difficult for the defense to leave good shooters. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a nice set for you to use after a timeout, late game situation and/or beginning of half. There are a variety of screens set in this set to create some possible mismatches on switches and the double screen for the post is key here. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe use a 1-4 alignment in our Full Court Press Break Set. We call the set "Homerun" and out of it we have our Man press break calls and zone press break calls. Below is our very simple press break for FC M-2-M pressure. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe use a lot of ball screens in our basic offensive movement to create advantages for easy scoring opportunities. Here is a simple Box Set alignment that utilitizes downscreens and cross screens to get the defense moving before setting the ball screen at the top of the key. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a nice little secondary break action that gives you a isolation in the post as well as bringing a shooter off a double screen for a 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis year we have the advantage in our Conference 3 Tournament to face some Post players that could not move very well on the perimeter. We took advantage of of our athletic Post/Stretch 4 players and put them in tough situations to constantly have to defend ball screens and play on the perimeter. Here is a nice little set that always you to also get mismatches in the scoring zones. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is an little adjustment to the UCLA to Ball Screen action that I posted earlier. Here we use the UCLA (rub cut) and allow the Post to reverse the ball to change the sides of the floor. You can get a nice ISO inside early on the reversal or you can wait for the jumper as the second option. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAs we keep trying to improve our offensive efficiency, more and more teams are moving towards using ball screens to create scoring opportunities. At Varina we use various alignments to put the defense in a situation to limit what they can do help-side wise to defend our quick game. This is a action we use out of our 1-4 set in late game situations to get a quick shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is another play for our 1-4 High Set that we like to use and play a 2-man game on the strong side. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawStart in a 1-2-2 alignment with your bigs on the blocks. 1 will dribble the basketball away from the side he wants to enter the ball. (ex. Go away from your best shooter). As one is coming back to the shooter's side; 4/5 will set a double screen (elevator screen) for the shooter (2 in this case). 2 will sprint around the screen and back to the ball side corner looking for the shot. 3 will slide to the weak-side corner. If 2 is not open for the pass/shot. 5 (or the post thats at the top of the double screen) will set a screen for the 4 (or post at the bottom of the double screen). 4 then curls tight off the screen looking for a pass from 1.
