The Memphis Grizzlies ran this terriffic set to get Mike Conley an open look to attack the rim. This was in Game 1 of the 1st Round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs at home against the Portland Trailblazers. The Grizzlies ran this set to start the 3rd quarter and got a quick bucket from Conley to extend their lead.
1 passes to 5 at the top of the key. 5 then reverses to 3 who v-cuts out to the wing. 4 goes to the opposite block. 1 cuts through to his opposite corner (now ball-side corner).
5 down screens for 2 to cut to the top of the key and receive the reversal pass from 3.
2 passes into 5 at the high post. 2 then cuts down the lane and then out to the corner. 4 walks up to the elbow to set up the double staggered action.
3 and 4 set double staggered screens for 1 to cut to 5 to receive the dribble handoff.
1st Option: 1 receives the dribble handoff from 5 and turns the corner and looks to score in the paint.
2nd Option: If 1 cannot score in the paint, he can look to kick out to 2 or 3 (relocating to the corner after setting the first screen for 1 in the double staggered screens).
