The 1 on 1 closeout drill works on moving when the ball is passed, getting into the proper help position, and knowing what type of closeout to use based of the skill set and shooting ability of the offensive player.
The coach with ball at the top of the key passes to the wing and the defense should jump to into the help position.
Then the coach feeds the post-coach and on the dribble the defense stunts to the ball.
The post-coach then passes the ball out to the wing to an offensive player, who is ready to catch and attack.
The defense closes out to the offense.
On the catch it becomes live 1-on-1.
